blue03636
I have one of these, they are not honda quiet but they are not raging loud.
scottb
Would they be "campground" quite? My current generator is also a welder, powered by a briggs and stratton motor. So my generator is as quite as a push-style lawn mower = NOT campground friendly.
blue03636
it is quieter than the briggs, those make a lot of noise. It could also be quieter by adding another muffler.
scottb
I figure i might need a generator for mid-ohio. My current generator uses a gallon of gas about every hour. SO it is not to cost effective to run for power.
blue03636
I ran 2 sets of warmers for about 6 or so hours on a tank. I have ran 3 sets on it with no problem.
madcat6183
Just in case anyone is reading this and really looking at it... Read my write up on Wera. I have 1 of these and might just get a second because of the 20% off. If you have any questions from someone who uses this generator all day everyday for 5 days at a time straight, as in not turned off at night, not turned off during the day when we are at the track or working on a car, just ask. This is stupid cheap, and TSC has never even had them this cheap. Actually F it I m going to order another one or see if the local has one with the 20% off. You can never have too many generators. I just got mine back from my parents house last weekend, if you want to see one work, I have it in Cbus. Or hear it run, its that quiet. As many thumbs up as I can give it.! blue03636
Glad to see I'm not the only one that likes them.
scottb
Thanks!!, I will order one then. I did see it has low oil shutoff, so that is at least a plus. With the money saved, I can get or make a wheel kit to making storing easier.
blue03636
advance auto selsl a wheel kit for it, didn't think it was all that much ($40 maybe)
scottb
here is a link to owners manual from Champions website. I would probably get spare brushes, just to have.I will look for your write-up.http://www.championpowerequipment.com/man/gen/46515%20Manual.pdf
madcat6183
Wheel kit is 40 at TSC too. I don't have one because honestly, it aint that heavy. My 5500 is and we got the wheel kit on that, but this one isn't bad. You will not be disappointed on this. I m going to order another this week too. Leave one at my parents and one here. Beegreenstrings
I do not know wattages when it comes to things... Would this run a furnace? I know it wouldn't run my well pump. I should state the furnace is just the squirrel cage since I have my outside wood burner.
madcat6183
It should yes. It powers an AC unit that is about 3K surge to start, along wit hthe fridge running, and then water pump etc.I would say it will run an efficient furnace, but if you want to really run a big one, you ll need more like 5500. scottb
I was able to purchase one yesterday on-line. After taxes, the total was $259.Wife picked it up in Macedonia. I did not unbox it yet, but the whole package is about the size or a microwave and seemed kinda light and easy to unload. If I make time today, I will unbox it.
