I was stationed at NAS Miramar with VF-126 (88-92), we played the commies to give the fighter jocks something to shoot at and we were in the same hanger as NFWS (Top Gun) We also flew T2 aircraft for spin recovery training for f-14's Me front row 3rd from left Me in a A4 El Centro CA A A4 on our flight line being fueled T2 taxing out Something you don't see very often, A navy F16 Row of F14's at Miramar This is a CH-53 at the bombing range near Fallon NV. There were 10 of us in here and we would fly around all day looking for un-exploded ordnance then the helo would land, we hop out and mark it then the EOD boys would show up and detonate it. hanging out the side door looking at the desert floor. looking back at the tail rotor. Initially developed for the USN, but then only used as an Aggressor squadron to replace the aging F-5. I loved flying the viper...but not as much as the T-38.
