Car made out of hemp

To make this resilient, lightweight compound, hemp stalks are combed and rolled into a mat that is infused with a polymer resin. the hemp makes the biocomposite’s flexibility similar to the carbon fiber used in racecars.

sounds like a cheaper alternative to carbon fiber might be in the works for weekend racers ..... maybe even replace fiberglass on drag cars which would be awesome if they can keep the cost down

where is this car made?

hemp is illegal in the US for some stupid reason.

illegal to grow in most states - but some states have laws that it can be grown for industrial reasons....although theyre not actually growing it yet because of legal battles with the DEA

also, it is legally able to be imported, it just has to meet certain standards...so if these cars are produced in canada where it is legal, they can be imported and sold here if they meet the requirements, which im sure they will since theyre turned into a hard fiberglass type material
