Ohio Senate Passes CCW Bill to Allow Carry in Restarunts and Bars that Serve Alcohol

The bill also would remove restrictions on how permit-holders transport their weapons while driving. Under current law, guns must be carried in a holster, locked case or unlocked container in plain sight.

Supporters of the bill say that Ohio is among only three states with such restrictions.

Law enforcement officials warned that making guns more accessible in a vehicle could put officers at risk when making a traffic stop. "Under this bill, as proposed, a permit-holder could drive down the roadway with their firearm lying visibly on the dashboard of their motor vehicle," the FOP's Weinman said.
