I was curious about this so I tried Fox_Racing_Guy's alternative detour today. I have to say these roads are nice and gnarly and twisty, all in all a highly entertaining little back route but be aware that both roads are a bit dirty and 258 in particular seemed to have gravel in most of the corners. Also, there was a really tricky little dip on 258 that took me by surprise and I felt lucky to keep control. Until the roads are cleaned up I'd avoid it if the group are expecting to keep a quick pace.

It figures that Fox_Racing_Guy would suggest this - it's probably a bloody riot on a the MX bike!!

Sorry about that Bill, it's been over a month since I've been on those roads and the last time both were clean. 258 was flooded over during our monsoon spring but the last time I was on it I had no problems.

Sorry to hear you guys had a rider go down. I hope you heal up soon Kent.

Of course the site had to be down when I got home yesterday but I headed back home after filling up on Rt.60, which I should have taken back up instead of backtracking on 83. Kent was complaining about his collarbone so at least that's ok. A case of losing focus for a second and then paying for it, more or less. I'm up for another run sometime in the future.

Hey guys, just want to try to give you a little update. I'm so drugged up I don't know if this will make sense. Not going to get into the crash right now cause I can't think straight. I did catch it on video, so I'll post that later.

Anyway, dislocated left elbow, shattered the end of one of the two bones in lower arm, right where it connects to the elbow. It's in three big pieces and a bunch of little pieces. Also broke my left thumb. Doc reset my elbow yesterday and I saw a specialist today and will have surgery tomorrow or Wed, to put the bone back together. Unfortunately, doc is saying it might be too damaged and may have to put a prosthetic in there. Or something like that. It's hard for me to concentrate and think straight. They have me on Percocet and I've never taken it before but it's got me fucked up.

So many people stopped to lend assistance and I saw a Harley rider go into a wobble when the rider in front of him slowed down to see if everything was ok. Every rider is your brother on the road...

4 sure, but this site the people I have met go above and beyond

No, haven't gotten the bike yet. My brothers are going to get it tomorrow. Hopefully it's still there.

I can't say enough about all the help I got from you guys and the other people that stopped. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart ( I know, gay).

And Hailwood, you are awesome man. You followed the ambulance to the hospital and stayed to make sure I was good. I can't tell you how much I appreciate it. I will always be grateful and if you ever need anything, man, you let me know.

Anytime, man - That's the beauty of the group rides. I'm just glad you were able to walk away from it, and I wish you nothing but the best in your recovery.

I talked to your brother yesterday. Hopefully they were able to get your bike back home and you'll be able to get back out there soon.

Alright, I finally got it uploaded. Unfortunately, youtube screwed up the audio on the first two videos. Third one seems fine. All three files play fine on my computer so I don't know what they did. Uploaded in 720HD. Added a little sound effects to my crash at the end, trying to be funny. :D
