attentiongetter92
would this be an adequate round to take to a place like thunder valley and reach out and touch the big boy distances? I was looking at the .338 lapua but holy cow are they expensive
flounder
Yes that is plenty. a .308 is plenty and smaller cartridges are fine as well. You have to ask yourself what you budget is for ammo, how often you will be shooting, and what distance you want to be able to get out to.I shoot my .308 to 1165 yards. Somewhat clost to Flounders. But I have mentioned on her a few times I wanted a 338 lapoua. I believe it was the bad new rifle. But, 308 is plenty. attentiongetter92
Eh ammo cost isn't a factor really, I'm going to start reloading. And based on your guys recommendations, I'm set has anyone been to thunder valley, unfortunately there isn't anywhere "close" to shoot over 100~ yards
kawi kid
Walther, Flounder, and myself frequent there quite often.

MidgetTodd
Hell 22lr will get out to "big boy" distance... You just have to aim higher than you would with the winmag

All that really happens when you reload is that you end up shooting more so you probably actually spend more money reloading. Hell I just ordered over $1000 in supplies and 95% of it was just bullets..
