imprez55
A guy has a R6 that he is selling that looks completely stock but the ad says its been bored out to a liter I highly doubt this is legit, but what is the possibility of someone doing this? I would think you would run into the oil/coolant passages and have tons of problems with heathttp://cleveland.craigslist.org/mcy/2632685469.html
TwiztedRabbit
first thing.. says custom paint.. thats a stock design on the 09...
Simplysix
I don't think its possible. I believe you can only to about 675-700. 187 hp also seems like a stretch
TwiztedRabbit
187 for a 1000 isnt a stretch for hp at the "crank"
ReconRat
2mm over is 635cc-636cc. 1000cc is impossible without an engine swap.I think it's a Mexican Beaver overbore kit.(Scroll down to 1000cc fuel injected Beaver SP1.)Mexican Beaver (goes straight to product page)
Sniper_308
I smell bullshit! that thing would have to be bored over so much, that the reliability of the motor would be compromised. looks like his exhaust is stock. He would need to mod every possible thing on that bike to make that kind of power. But, I could be wrong on this.

Rctaylor
Unless its a motor swap, theres no way.Even a completely built AMA motor only gets along the lines of 140 peak on an R6.It would have to be blown/turbo'd, along with built. serpentracer
you can't bore a R6 engine period it's already at the max and there is no sleeves in them.ever since 2003 yamaha quit using sleeved engines.

Habi
Just mess with him and ask what kits in it? What size injectors did he go with etc ect.... He probably bought it at the beginning of the the season and was told all this.

Steve Butters
when i read that add i did not take it as a 600 bored to 1000....i took it as a 1000 that is bored over (i assumed it was a motor swap)

Maybe a good way to get R6 insurance on an R1?

I can see both ways now, but I still don't understand why EVERYTHING would be stock except the motor, which would be a fairly involved process especially if it isn't a direct swap. Why would he also lie about the paint?

Sniper_308
This is what he said. It has the R1 motor. Please text the number on the ad. I posted it for my cousin. That's his number posted on the add. Thanks,Michael
serpentracer
I highly doubt that claim as well. the R1 engine is quite larger in size and that doesn't look like it's any bigger than the stock r6 motor.you'd even have to mod the farings as wellI think that guy is just some giant squid dip shit that is trying to bs someone to buy it.hell he already changed the listing from bored out and race ready to with a R1 motor installed. tyler524
A quick google search didn't seem to show any signs of anyone actually making the swap and all the issues that there would be to do it. Either this guy is trying to rip someone off or he is a complete jackass squid that was ripped off
