BadTrainDriver
Not even close to the same thing.. Carrots and corn and veggies being inanimate things are not even in the same category of animals. Not cool dude.. I'm seriously speechless right now. And that's saying a lot coming from me. You need to google a guy named Gary Yourlofsky. He is an activist and a motivational speaker who I got the pleasure of hearing in class a month ago or so. He forever changed my mind about how I eat and I'm sure he can change yours also.I care less than zero to listen to some bleeding heart activist talking about how I should eat, thank you anyway. What I am going to do is, walk into my kitchen and make myself a HUGE roast beef sandwich with pepper jack cheese and horseradish sauce. Before I put the meat on the bread, I"m going to stab it with a fork a few times...just to make sure it's dead, as it's pretty rare.MMMMMmmmmmm!

I never said you need to change your ways, you just should educate yourself on the issue rather than spitting your sick hate around. I never once told you to not eat meat. You made a stupid ass comment about comparing vegetables to animals. To me that shows ignorance. I was just trying to help you.

They are considered to be sentient by some and should not be eaten. What's left? Eating dirt? People?

Thanks for helping me with that.I already fucking said they are INANIMATE objects.. meaning I don't know they have feelings but they aren't making bonds with things and WALKING around making CONSCIOUS decisions. This whole thing is pointless. the fact that i reciprocate to anything you guys are saying makes me just as bad. So I'm going to go study for my finals. BadTrainDriver
http://youtu.be/zlKpJvIrVaYAnd the angel of the lord came unto me. snatching me up from my place of slumber, and took me onHigh, and higher still until we moved through the spaces betwixt the air itself. and he brought me into aVast farmland of our own midwest. and as we descended, cries of impending doom arose from theSoil. one thousand, nay, a million voices full of fear. and terror possessed me then. and I begged:angel of the lord, what are these tortured screams? and the angel said unto me: these are the criesOf the carrots. the cries of the carrot. you see, reverend maynard, tomorrow is harvest day, and toThem, it is the holocaust. and I sprang from my slumber drenched in sweat with the tears of one millionTerrified brothers and roared: hear me now, I have seen the light. they have a consciousness! theyHave a life! they have a soul. damn you! let the rabbits wear glasses. save our brothers. can I get anAmen. can I get a haleluia. thank you, jesus. This is necessary.Life feeds on life.It was daylight when you woke up in your ditch. you looked up at your sky. that made blue be yourColor. you had your knife there with you, too. when you stood up, there was goo all over yourClothes. your hands were sticky. you wiped them on your grass, so now your color was green. oh,Lord, why did everything have to keep changing like this. you were already getting nervous again. yourHead hurt, and it rang when you stood up. your head was amost empty. it always hurt you when youWoke up like this. you crawled up out of your ditch, onto your gravel road, and you began to walk,Waiting for the rest of your mind to come back to you. you could see the car parked far down theRoad, and you walked toward it. if God is our father, you thought, then satan must be our cousin. whyDidnt anyone else understand these important things. when you got to your car, you tried all the doors. They were locked. it was a red car, and it was new. there was an expensive leather camera caseLaying on the seat. out across your field you could see two tiny people walking by your woods. youBegan to walk towards them. now red was your color. and of course, those little people out thereWere yours, too.Now tell me carrots don't have feelings... SAMBUSA
BTD, I know you're being a smart ass just to get her and anyone else that bites(get it lol) worked up. That being said, plants dont have a brain therefore cant feel pain. Humans are better any other animals because most humans have higher intellect. Thats why we drive cars and bovine still walk and 4 legs. The people in the video obviously have less intellect than animals and feel threatened by the smarter animal, hence their behavior

ama146
I don't know how this turned into an argument about how we shouldn't eat animals. Its about how they are tortured before they are killed in SOME farms, and how it needs to stop. When other animals kill animals for food, they don't recklessly torture the animal before they eat... they kill in the quickest way possible. And just because humans are smarter doesn't mean we have the right to do that shit. Imagine earth without humans... it would be in perfect balance. No pollution, no overpopulation, just balanced life.
Steve Butters
I already fucking said they are INANIMATE objects.. meaning I don't know they have feelings but they aren't making bonds with things and WALKING around making CONSCIOUS decisions. i kind of disagree.just because they dont act the same as we do, doesnt mean they dont make conscious decisions.sure some things may not show it as readily, but what about carnivorous plants such as venus fly traps?http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B8XQ20X_4s4not moving making decisions etc doesnt make something inanimate...coral is considered a non-moving animal....there are plants more active than some coralsor what about mimosa plants? they "play dead" when touched, they obviously have feelings because they react to touchhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zq3UuHlPLQUif you stab a chicken, its going to holler and run around...if you stab a coral it probably wont move...doesnt mean either of them feels pain differently....same could go for plants - maybe a carrot does feel just like other plants, just has no visible way to show itthe science behind electric pulses in plants showing that they do feel is not so easily written off, IMO

Steve Butters
Really Tyler? That's like saying that flowers have a feeling because the open and close with the sun. reacting to temperature is not the same as reacting to touchall im saying is i dont think the high and mighty approach is a very good one "dont hurt animals, they have feelings...just eat plants because theyre inanimate"there is plenty of research to show that plants could possibly have feelings - so what then? will people start eating rocks? Steve Butters
cats play with their food before killing it also...same for dogs...my old dog used to pummel rabbits with her paws until it would quit running and give up, and my girls cats do the same with mice
