JStump
Id say it was more him not knowing how to counter steer, the first turn he took was pretty slow so he was able to lean the bike to turn, the second one was much faster and leaning alone wasn't gonna do it. JStump
That's exactly why I started with a 250 and rode it for like 3 hours around my development doing like 15-20 mph when I first started so I could learn how to turn and take curves. imprez55
Poor bike Its really not that hard to get started riding; my first time on any motorcycle was a 600 in the rain and I did just fine. I don't understand why there are so many of these 1st ride crashes, especially the ones where people don't even get out of the parking lot with their brand new $9000+ bike. My dad told me that years ago he sold a brand new liter bike to a kid that, on his birthday, just came from the BMV with his temps. The kid unfortunately never even made it home and rear ended a semi on the freeway. No matter how good you get, you have to respect the bike and its/your limits. chrisknight
Ouch... Well that sucks. I can kind of see how that happened though. He starts to turn left (like a bicycle) but the gyroscopic effect confused him, pushing the top of the bike right, causing him to freeze. He didn't know to counter-steer.
