old oil well spurting oil

I was out rabbit hunting and noticed the very, very, old, like 1930's, out of commission shallow oil well on the property spit up oil, or at least there's oil on the ground under the vent pipe thing...Gonna call it Gump oil...Or at least sit a bucket under it and see what's really going on..Never seen a thing from it in ten years. Gotta be from the drilling going on and they have not fracked yet. Stopped by the well rig nearby but they didn't want to hear about it really. Couldn't get past the security gaurd. I Noticed they're Halliburton tanks. These guys aren't playing around. Now they're drilling six holes.

I need a pump jack.

Come listen to a story about a man named Jed A poor mountaineer, barely kept his family fed, Then one day he was shootin' at some food, And up from the ground came a bubblin' crude. Oil that is, black gold, Texas tea.

Well the first thing you know ol' Jed's a millionaire, His kinfolk said, 'Jed, move away from there!' They said, 'Californy is the place you oughtta be.' So, they loaded up the truck and moved to Beverly. Hills, that is, Swimmin' pools, movie stars.

Y'all come back now, y'hear?

Damn man.

We are changing your screen name to Jed. That cool?

lol...Na, not just yet. We'll see what bucket holds. Gotta be from the drillers pushing oil up thru the ground with whatever they're doing. Going to try and call them though. Don't want the EPA involved but you'd think Chesapeake would want to fix it or pump it out before the EPA would get involved.

if its an old well as you describe, good chance Chesapeke doesn't own it unless they bought the rights which it likely for that area but it could be any number of local producers that have been around for a long time
