fz1 chain adjustment

I can never seem to get it right. Here's my question, in looking through the paper work that came with my bike, it appears the original owner of the bike raised the rear an inch when he installed the Penske rear shock. My chain seems to make a lot of noise , and wondered if due to raising the rear, would thst cause me to have to run the chain slightly looser than spec??

Raising the rear will require adjusting the chain back to spec. If your getting the required movement the height adjustment won't cause it to go back out. Just make sure the chain isn't junk or dry. I run mine on the loose end to where it just touches the swingarm.

I have that pyramid rear huger so I can't run the chain too loose. I agree with Blue03636. You want to run it loose but close to spec. If is sounds like it is rubbing a little check the rear sprocket. I had to replace mine at 20,000. It warped.
