I think the power will be sufficient. I have wanted one for awhile and getting a good deal to try it out. If its not what I wanted then onto something else but as long as the handling is ok then It should be fine. Ill still have the RR when needed :)

I'm clearly not as proficient a rider as you however I think you'll find the handling pretty damn good for being a "sport tourer"

If a VFR doesn't make enough power for your street riding needs.. then I just don't know what to say.

Way too much more than enough for me but for hardcore 1000cc riders I thought they mIght want more kick from it
