10w40 vis 20w50 oil

:sexytime:any one run 10w40 in colder months 20w50 in hotter if so how has your street bike held up just wondering this is the way i run oil in atvs & was thanking of running it the same in my 06cbr600f4i

water cooled you only need 10w40. the thicker oil will protect a hotter running air cooled engine better.

but a water cooled engine doesn't need it. and you'll get better acceleration/power and mpg.

Most of the need for different oil weight for different parts of the year went away when multi-weight was invented. When single weight was used, it was a necessity. The exception is if you move to someplace like Alaska or sub-tropic Sahara.
