Scruit
http://www.10tv.com/content/stories/2013/01/08/columbus-man-fights-back-armed-robber.htmlCOLUMBUS, Ohio - A Columbus man said that he fought back when a man tried to rob him at gunpoint in west Columbus Monday night.Kelby Smith, 34, told police he was in the driveway of the home on Crescent Drive just before 9 p.m. when he was approached by a robber.Smith said that he had his 2-month-old in a car carrier and had to shield him from the robber who held a gun at Smith's head. The suspect took Smith's money and started to flee the scene as he pointed the gun back at Smith and his child. That's when Smith pulled out his own gun and fired at the robber. The robber continued to run, but police said that a man fitting his description arrived at Mount Carmel West a short time later with a gunshot wound.Nice to see this being reported in a positive light. All too often the headline would be "Gun freak mows down hungry desperate misunderstood person who was just turning his life around, forces his child to watch his inept slaughter attempt"
Pokey
We shall see how this plays out, I wouldn't be surprised if the victim somehow gets in trouble for something.

Only thing I can see is if the bad guy was hit in the back and claims we was shot while running away...

cOoTeR
It did say the guy was pointing the gun back at them while running. Still a threat.
madcat6183
Probably would have been best that the robber would have ended up dead.... I think I would've made sure of that. No witness;s except a 2 month old baby.

Tonik
Probably would have been best that the robber would have ended up dead.... I certainly hope you are never in that situation....but if you are don't go that route. Cops are way smarter than that. They will figure it out. The old sayings of drag the guy into the house...make sure they are dead.....don't fly in the real world. The shooter did nothing wrong if the gun was being pointed back at him, no need to do anything more than he did. If he had walked up and popped the guy a few more times he then probably crosses the line into murder.
Gump
Sadly you should be able to find the perp an hour later and shoot him while he's sleeping but, that's they way it goes.Having a 2 month old around, really helped the guys case regardless of what happened, in this media wacko emmotional driven planet.
