max power
Why did they have to try to make Jeeps into such complicated mommy cars? The idea was cheap reliable off road machine. Now, they are anything but.
Pokey
Why did they have to try to make Jeeps into such complicated mommy cars? The idea was cheap reliable off road machine. Now, they are anything but.Yeah they are not cheap for what ya get, a 110% trail rated short wheel base crawler that is noisy as hell and not comfy on the road and gets shit gas mileage. I would love to have one as a 2nd or 3rd vehicle, but NEVER as my primary.
imaposer
Why did they have to try to make Jeeps into such complicated mommy cars? The idea was cheap reliable off road machine. Now, they are anything but.Because that's what sells? You can still buy a very basic, stripped down wrangler for not a lot of cash. You won't find many on dealer lots that way as the majority of the buyers are posers(yep) who just want the image of them, but don't want to give up all the luxuries. But, you can get them without power anything, half doors, soft top only, and I think even air conditioning is optional on the very base model.Yeah they are not cheap for what ya get, a 110% trail rated short wheel base crawler that is noisy as hell and not comfy on the road and gets shit gas mileage. I would love to have one as a 2nd or 3rd vehicle, but NEVER as my primary.Ours is our second vehicle, and I want to replace it with something else. Everything you said is true. The wife has been using it for her daily driver for the last month waiting on me to sell her van and buy a new econobox daily driver, which I did today. How she dealt with it as a daily is beyond me. And you want complete lunacy? Even with what I just admitted, once this one sells and we buy a more practical second vehicle, it's going to be replaced with a new four door wrangler rubicon as our third. imaposer
Still no trade info? Or was the figure too ridiculous?Trade price at the two local dealers was as expected. $15.5k & $16.2k. That's with a purchase price of 1% under invoice using chryslers affiliate pricing program. I'm sure if I tried, I could get more out of them as that was the first number each gave me. Only problem was neither of them had the color that we want and my wifes first(and only) choice for color has been discontinued, so they can't just order one. I easily found six, but of course they are all at dealers 250 miles away. Those dealers can't(won't) give me a trade in number until I bring my jeep to them to look at, and I'm not willing to drive that far without having a deal already in place, so selling outright looks to be the only option. imaposer
Price drop to $17,250. Leaning towards doing something else now, looking to trade for a tahoe/yukon/suburban in the $8-10K range plus cash.
