I have an original 1977 KZ1000 the stock tires are 3.25 x 19 front and 4.00 x 18 rear Does anyone have a suggestion for tire sizes and make to replace the OEM tires? Could probably go to a 4.50 on the back also who would you recommend to put them on true up the wheels and torque the spokes

Thanks

Before swapping to more modern rims, I had a 100/90-19 on the front and a 110/90-18 rear on my '78 Kz1000. You can squeeze a 120/90-18 on the rear if need be. IIRC, a 130 will touch the chain guard and have a dangerous profile.

Dunlop suggests their D404 in 100/90-19 and 110/90-18 sizes.

Avon suggests their Roadriders in 100/90-19 and 120/90-18 sizes.

I suggest Roadriders. :) Got 15-18k miles on rear Roadriders on my little GS500 with good handling.

Nothing wrong with the GT501 in those sizes, Demons for handling over tire life maybe.
