  1. Dude, you keep digging a grave... Higher resale? If you are an enthusiast, that should NEVER be a reason to buy a bike. If amongst like machines that you LIKE, maybe a category, but not something that should matter. Unless you are a doctor and wanna be cool like your friends. We don't call those folks enthusiasts. We call them posers... Better warranty? Really? You need to be VERY careful here... I know a few things about HD and metric as well as other brands and their warranties that are available... HD's are not better... Equal is a great word, but not better. Better than some, but not most to where it is a measuring stick... Quality? Ok... How do I say this w/o coming off as an HD hater. Quality is where you need to look past the painted pinstripes and look deeper. HD has some seriously old technology. It gets made fun of and is the basis of a lot of jokes, but if you think that is quality, that list of bikes you tallied off is seriously being questioned here. I can take a cruiser from a metric brand and place it side by side and you can CLEARLY see a difference in quality. Now, is it night and day? No. It is the simple and small things. Quality is how things are made, how they are exposed, how they are hidden, how the welds look, how the parts are used, how they are not used, etc. The list is crazy long and HD while good bikes and built OK, are far from being at the top of the list when talking quality. Again, similar or maybe better than some, but not most and that's where if you say they are better quality, you need to understand the way to measure quality. Again, stop while you are ahead.

  2. Hi my name is Seth. I am an ASE Certified Technician. I am not a guy who just has 1 certification claiming to be a "certed" tech. I have 9 ASE's. I went to Ohio Technical College, which directed me in my hybrid wrenching lifestyle. Please dont take the impression of being a tree hugger, lol , it WAS a pretty demanding field. I am 22 yrs old, but dont let the age fool you. I am pretty knowledgeable in my field, but know that there is NO replacement for experience. I have a young son. His name is Bronx Madden, He turned 2 years old the other day. ( August 24th). My cars. I own a 1992 Nissan Sentra SE-R. JDM sr20de+t. It has 10:1 C/R. GT2871rs. Tons of supporting mods, etc etc. Pulled an 11.6 1/4. SLEEPER!!! (bought the car off of a former member of this forum with a blown engine 8 months ago) 1988 Mitsubishi Starion ESI-R. Bought with 48k original miles, now with 63k. Suspension engine and cosmetic mods, etc etc etc I have owned 3 dsm's, and 2 mitsubishi starions, and a jetta VR6. ( not including all the DD's i have owned; hondas trucks etc) I have been into internet forums since early 03. I was 14 haha when I bought my first starion. I believe a LONG time ago i had an account with Columbus Racing. But I had to re-register. So here I am, hope to bring alot of insight to the community, and hope to learn alot at the same time!!! I dont have any pictures of my Sentra se-r ATM. Besides of few shots of the engine as i just got it up and running 6 weeks ago. But ill throw some up soon. I just need cleared to post as i have a friend who is very interested in purchasing a a car soon to get in the scene. http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s239/stariondriver75/pearlquest.jpg http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s239/stariondriver75/MyCar007.jpg -Seth

  3. Here you go http://www.motosport.com/motorcycle/product/CONTINENTAL-MOTION-TIRE-COMBO/?id=118071 from the reviews I've seen and for the price I don't think you can go wrong with these.

  4. I did 5 trackdays on Bridgestone BT-45's. the second day, it rained all morning. I dragged my knee for the first time that afternoon. the track was dry by then, but the point is that sport touring tires are usually more capable than street conditions allow, and even do pretty well on the track. I imagine they would do even better during aggressive street riding, where there's more variety of turns, and more time for the tires to cool off between aggressively twisty sections of road.

  5. I never thought I would say this, but the sport touring tires available today, from just about all the big motorcycle tire manufacturers, are truly good tires for the street, wet grip, mileage, smoothness & plenty aggressive for spirited rides...I've been sold! I like Michelin's so PR2's work for me, then again the S3 might see a Metzeler Roadtec Z8 Interact real soon for the rear.

  6. Worst I got was from my Grandmother when I kept putting off doing my chores, then lied to her saying I had when I didn't. I got to go pick out a switch (ie branch) that was used to put the fear of God into me. I didn't put off or lie about doing my chores anymore. I still love my Grandmother.

  9. I only wave at people wearing helmets. Because those that don't wear helmets are probably too f*cking stupid and too low skilled as a motorcyclist to continue riding with only one hand on the bars..

  10. Hey dingle, the helmets didn't kill your friends. If helmets killed that many people you know, it is either a HUGE exception or a large coincidence. Helmets protect. When people get killed while wearing full gear, it is due in large part to the accident being so severe that no matter what they were wearing, they would have passed. To blame it on gear is about as ignorant a thing I have ever heard. I have watched a great friend die in front of us after a race crash that ripped his Arai clean off his head. Removed his lower party of his face essentially. His death was not due to that helmet. That crash was due to the blunt trauma he was dealt when he was run over, after impact and the extreme nature of his injuries. The helmet did cause severe trauma, but as I mentioned, it wasn't solely the helmet and it would have happened even if it didn't get ripped off... In regards to your "wave at me or you are a dick" comment, you really should be quite aware as from your laundry list of owned bikes, a LOT - not all - but a LOT of HD riders will not wave back to sportbike people. A lot. Now, at times, I just don't waste my time as I am at the point that I assume they are going to ignore and not wave so, I don't. Then I feel terrible when they do. The point is that you really need to stop while you are ahead. You might actually be an OK guy, but at this stage, I am thinking that you are an ignorant guy that has no idea as to why gear is so important and are being very hypocritical. Remember what the HD crowd is like when it comes to being on the other side. You're not helping...

  11. A few weeks after i got my first bike my foot slipped pulling into a parking spot at my old apartment complex and i dropped it. I'm a scrawny guy, and then i was only about 120 pounds, trying to pick up a 480 pound bike. After much frustration, I finally got it up, and it went over on the other side! Got it back up eventually. Finally, exhausted, i went inside and took a breather. Came back out to see if the thing would start, hit the button, and it rolled forward, and went down for the 3rd time in a 20 minute period. I had left it in gear. The clutch lever sensor was bypassed by the previous owner since it was broken. That was a bad day for the old nighthawk.

  14. I am a new member to CR. I have designed and built bodies and paint schemes for the race cars for years but just started in the race side since retirement. I have an 88 Fox body convertible that I am going to drop a 04 Cobra SVT with an aluminum block and supercharger in. Has anyone done this that might be able to give some advice when needed? I know there are alot of Mustang fanatics out there that might be able to help. r

  15. Ok so I'm going to look at a 99 Mustang Cobra convertible this Saturday. What are some things I should look for? The car has 94,000 miles and the owner says its completely stock except for the wheels. I was reading online about how the 99 cobra didnt make as much power as expected so Ford did a recall on them to fix the problems and that the ones that had the recall on them have a sticker under the hood somewhere saying that the recall was performed. Anything else that I should keep an eye out for? Thanks for any help that you can provide.

  16. How about you go smash your face in to a brick wall over and over again until you cant stand any longer. That would probably be the best thing for your ignorant ass to do.
