  1. New on the site, herd about it from a few guys on psychobike. My names Rob I'm from Lima, Ohio. Been into Mustangs and bikes since I could walk. Have owned many stangs over the years from mild to wild. Got out of them for a few and just focused on bike. My wife and I both have Busas for our street bikes and my son and I have a gsxr 1k and gsxr 750 for our drag bikes. Been to almost all the local tracks over the years and always have a blast! Thanks for letting me join the board!! Heres a few pics of our bikes. http://img850.imageshack.us/img850/2759/summer014.jpg Uploaded with ImageShack.us http://img854.imageshack.us/img854/8594/droidcharge014.jpg Uploaded with ImageShack.us http://img528.imageshack.us/img528/5058/droidcharge112.jpg Uploaded with ImageShack.us

  3. Let me preface this by stating my MOS was 2111 (Armorer) if that means anything to my ability to think critically about my own personal defense. I do not feel unsafe if I were to go out unarmed maybe that has to do with being a dumbass Marine that thinks he can handle most situations. I do however feel unprepared if I'm not armed. I certainly don't carry because I'm afraid, I carry because I think it gives me an advantage to win if a situation arises that I can't control. I have no more of a chip on my shoulder when I carry nor do I go to or put myself in what I perceive as harms way because I carry. No one is in danger of me harming them when I carry unless they intend to cause me harm. I don't trust the judgment of someone who has decided to take something from me by force to not cause me harm if I surrender my possessions to them peacefully. You undoubtedly have seen very many mistakes in firearms handling as I have by people who have been instructed on proper protocol. I have bloodied many a face for returning a firearm to me barrel first. Why would you think I'd be willing to accept someone who has a weapon to handle it properly throughout taking my possessions and not accidently cause me harm. Semper Fi

  4. So last weekend I had planned to deer hunt all weekend in the hopes to get something to put in the freezer. Let me preface this by saying, I dont really care about rack size since Im in it for the meat. That means I will shoot the first decent sized deer I see. I wasn’t in the stand more than 1 hr on Fri night when this guy came in. It was a 36 yard broadside shot. When I released, he turned towards me and the shot hit farther back just behind the liver and caught the guts. He turned so quick that the arrow actually exited the opposite hip right in the crook before the hind leg. He did a quick 360 like a dog chasing his tail. Since I knew it was a gut shot, I backed out till morning in order not to push him hoping he would bed down and die. In the morning I got up and hunted from 6-10am then got changed and started looking for him. Not 1 drop of blood and yet I tracked him and there he was 50 yards away in thick bush. I’m guessing he weighed about 160 dressed out. I know I only could drag him about 20 yards before having to stop and rest because he was heavy. He’s a 7pt fyi.

  5. 4/13. Based on what i just read. So a simple probability problem that is very common would be to ask what is the probability of pulling out a 6. This probability would be 4/52 which could then be simplified to 1/13. Notice there are 4 six’s in a deck out of a total of 52 cards which is how we get 4/52. You should always simplify your final answer when expressing a probability.

  6. Odds? Well, there are 13 diamonds, and 3 more unaccounted for aces so 16 total. So the odds are 16:52, or 16/52=0.30769 or 31% percent

  7. 1:3.25 would be the easy answer. But I'm sure I'm missing something.

  9. nope, cause if I had actually paid for that health insurance, i either wouldn't have my car, (which i need to get back and forth to work) or I wouldn't have car insurance (so i would lose my license) I would go into default on my student loan (never a good thing) or starve to death...which seems like a bad option as well. I didn't have the money, don't have the money, and for the forseeable future WONT have the money to throw $300 a month into the toilet. you make nothing but good choices? intertesting... also, I don't think I ever asked you to pay for shit... I've paid all my doctor bills (and all my other bills for that matter) excuse me what the fuck has the government provided me? a loan at a reasonable interest rate to cover tuition? that's about it, other than that, they just take take take... nope riiight, if safety means being harassed by a bunch of dickhead cops. believe me, they have taken much more of my income than they have given penalty of law, yeah that's a $1,000 fine (if it sticks), I don't have it either. but pissing away $1,000 on a bullshit fine beats pissing away $3,600 on a bullshit illusion of security. nope, I pay my own bills fully expect to.

  14. Agreed. Even MTS owners admit it. I admire Pauly's muscle control to be able to suppress the gag reflex each time he walks up to his bike. Perhaps the trick is to always approach from the rear. However, it is sensational to ride and obviously therefore worth the pain. The new model is nice looking and I would buy one, but now they screwed with the engine and put a 4 valve in it...

  16. States do control those laws. Why do you think Jim Crow laws were upheld for so long South of the Mason-Dixon Line? Or the fact that I can't write in any presidential candidate on an Ohio ballot? There are Federal firearm requirements, but look at the firearm laws of Ohio versus New Jersey. Or consider Arizona passing it's own anti-immigration laws. The Supremacy Clause doesn't allow a State to make it's own treaty with a foreign power and prohibits other situations where a conflict of interest can occur between a state and the Federal Government. In those situations only, the Federal Law takes precedence. Federal Law is still enforced though, because a States Rule of Law only extends to the States border. Ohio law isn't applicable in Michigan. There are certain things a state can't do that the Fed can, and vice versa. That's why Federal Agencies need to be asked by the state to intervene, a state of emergency must be declared (by the state leader), or a Federal Law must be broken (the "juris-my-diction bull shit" that we see in cop movies all the time). Despite the hype, the Federal Government has a very limited role in the actual day to day government. Which is good because they can only screw up a few things, instead of everything.

  17. If you look hard I think you can answer your own question. Maybe the lack of jobs and amount of taxes have something to do with it? Supply (taxes) and demand (Union wages and benifits)= Less Union workers. Which won't effect those with senority...If I'm bound to pay 10 people $$$$ and I only have $$, I can only afford $$=5. Wait and see the "middle class" folks who vote for this...then have to vote for the levy's to pay for it! The people of Ohio stand with the "Middle class" workers. "What...wait...we have to pay?"...I thought the evil goverment was just hoarding this money to pay the governors advisors more!!!!

  20. It's not a novelty beer to anyone but those of us who are new to its availability. It's actually quite the opposite. It's an old standard like Hudy in Cincinnati. I prefer it to all other cheap beers (which it should be classified). It is not a high-end micro and isn't sold to compete with them. At $10/12 pack, you need to compare to Coors, Budweiser, Miller, etc...

  23. A SPANISH Teacher was explaining to her class that in Spanish, unlike English, nouns are designated as either masculine or feminine. 'House' for instance, is feminine: 'la casa.' 'Pencil,' however, is masculine: 'el lapiz.' A student asked, 'What gender is 'computer'?' Instead of giving the answer, the teacher split the class into two groups, male and female, and asked them to decide for themselves whether computer' should be a masculine or a feminine noun. Each group was asked to give four reasons for its recommendation. The men's group decided that 'computer' should definitely be of the feminine gender ('la computadora'), because: 1. No one but their creator understands their internal logic; 2. The native language they use to communicate with other computers is incomprehensible to everyone else; 3. Even the smallest mistakes are stored in long term memory for possible later retrieval; and 4. As soon as you make a commitment to one, you find yourself spending half your paycheck on accessories for it. The women's group, however, concluded that computers should be Masculine ('el computador'), because: 1. In order to do anything with them, you have to turn them on; 2. They have a lot of data but still can't think for themselves; 3. They are supposed to help you solve problems, but half the time they ARE the problem; and 4. As soon as you commit to one, you realize that if you had waited a little longer, you could have gotten a better model. The women won.

  25. Put your math hats on, kids, we're gonna play nerd... In layman's terms, this whole thing is all just a clusterfuck of cross-products, but it's that multi-vector gangbang that makes the bike lean over when you countersteer. Think about however is best for you, but realize that it's the cross-products of angular momentum that is doing all the work here. For simplicity's sake, let's ignore the engine effects, and concentrate on the front wheel.... Here's the big picture of why this works: Now, all this is saying is that the wheel's spin about the z-axis is directly related to its moments about the other two axes as well (nutation and precession). In this plot, the spin would make the wheel precess about the y axis. In a motorcycle, there are two front forks, so there is a shaft on both sides (modeled here as R), thereby making a system with zero precession when spinning with no other inputs. Now here's the important part - since the cross-products are always related, if you introduce precession (by turning the handlebars), you must also introduce nutation along the x-axis. The wheel will want to fall over to the side. This moment will be induced along the center of mass, but since the bottom of the wheel has a tire on it with a lot of friction, it just tips the whole thing over, along with the bike and rider that are attached to it. It's really not that crazy, it's just that people don't normally come across this kind of stuff in everyday conversation, so most people don't get a real explanation of it, so sometimes it can be made out to seem more complicated than it is. Hope that helps, and any of my fellow engineers can chime in a correct me if I've used improper nomenclature
