  3. Wow...that's about the dumbest statement I've ever read... How about this. Imagine a society with laws and law enforcement. Imagine no retribution for killing someone, imagine no speed limits on the roads. I don't know about you, but that's not a world I want to live in... I've had a few run ins with the law, included being incarcerated twice, and I've never met an LEO that wasn't 100% professional. For what they do, what they risk, and what they get payed...i'm surprised anyone would do the job...

  9. After a hard fight with lymphoma my bestest buddy, Josey, left us yesterday. He was diagnosed Dec. 2, and the vet gave him, at best, 1 month to live. Needless to say, these last several months have been extra special. I brought him home from the pound when he was just a few months old. They had him tagged as a Shepherd mix. Turns out he was more of a Corgi/Blue Heeler mix. He was fiercely protective of his home and people, but once he knew someone was cool, they were his new best friend. He had a contagious smile--I've never seen so many people smile when they would a dog...of course, it may have been the ears rather than his smile. It is unbelievable how empty my house feels without him here. I will have a lot of adjustments to make. For almost 12 years, I've come home nearly everyday and eaten lunch with him. A nose poking through the door as soon as it opens then a wagging tail. A tradition that we had--he would sit up on his haunches and I would squat down and we'd talk about our day. I'll miss all of that so much. I'll take on another, some day, but no time soon. Man, this stings.

  12. I can't believe what I'm reading, Zimmerman killed an unarmed kid. The reason Sharpton got involed is the the parents asked him to. Do we forget the police dept held Martin's body for three days knowing that his parents were looking for him. They filed a missing persons report and the police still didnt tell them their son had been killed. They took Zimmerman side like he did no wrong. They took his bs story and tried to cover it up becasue his parents are/were people of power. Is the 911 tape not enough when the 911 dispatcher told Zimmerman not to pursue this kid but took the law in his own hands. If any 16yr old had some grown man pursuing him he would do the same thing and fight for his safety I don't care what race he is. If the police dept would have held a proper investigation we wouldnt even been talking about this story. It is all about justice, not black and white. Sharpton is no doubt an oppurtunist but without him and the media this tragedy would have been swept under the rug.

  23. Exarch was telling me how once he had a gun with no round in the chamber and got stopped by a cop. To make the cop feel safe, he stripped naked and threw the gun in a lake.

  24. You could wear a "No Guns" sign on your chest. We all know those stop bad guys from using guns. It would keep you safe!

  25. Ridiculous. You don't carry a firearm with an empty chamber. What, you're going to draw, rack the slide, assume a three point stance with your weapon, perfect isoceles, inform the man with a written notice of fear-of-life, instruct him calmly to retreat in the King's English, and then hope he complies? No. I don't keep a round chambered for my home defense weapon, but carrying chamber-empty while out and about is like saying you never had a round chambered in your rifle when you went out on patrol (assuming you were actually in combat at any point during your service).

  26. Im not really a gun guy but support the right to carry, but also believe in leo safety. You did the right thing informing the officer you were carrying, perhaps it is Missouri procedure to hold the firearm until the stop is completed. no harm no foul, it wasnt like you needed it while pulled over anyway. Im sure it is a safety rule for the officer, but what is fucked up is that the people with a ccw are generally law abiding citizens and quick to let an officer know they are armed for the leo's safety. it is the thugs carrying illegally that might be a danger to an leo, but of course they would never tell the officer and be armed for the entire stop. I assume you are a law abiding citizen; so don't stress about giving an officer a few minutes of stress free time when making a traffic stop. sucks you got a ticket, but don't speed and it wont be an issue.
