  2. I took a little ride today. It was warmer than it has been for a while. It was around 3:30 when I left Newark and headed off to Pickerington. Back in June, I made my first visit to the Motorcycle Hall of Fame, in Pickerington, Ohio. At the entry desk, they mentioned that if I join the AMA I would get some sort of discount applied to my entry fee. So, I joined up. Time went by and joining the AMA was long forgotten. Eventually, a receipt surfaced which prompted my memory that I had paid for a membership, but I had never received anything to welcome me to the club or anything else from them. I kept putting off giving them a call until a time when it was more convenient and would stop slipping my mind. Well, finally that day came last week. I called them. They said they didn't have me in their system and asked if I could mail or fax them a copy of my receipt. I said I'd stop in on the way home from work one day. Better than that, today was a perfect day to just ride in and meet them in person. A riding jacket and jeans were adequate for today's temperatures. It felt good to straddle the bike again and take off down the road. The roads were moist from a light rain earlier, but the sun was shining when I left home. A few reminders of road hazards flashed into my day. One was, when you are approaching a hill that you can't see over, stay to the right of your lane. As I was returning home, I took the scenic route through the countryside. A pickup truck coming my way popped up over a hill in front of me and was nearly in the middle of the road. I'm glad I was far enough back to scoot over some before he got too close. Another hazard I wasn't expecting was gravel down the center of my lane in several places on the roadway. There was a lot of it on the main roads, between where cars tires would ride. I suppose this is common after snow has melted off the roadways. Anyway, I learned some things that I didn't think about before. I arrived at the AMA with my receipt in hand and they took my info and said that tomorrow I could access their website with my new password and I would start getting their magazine in the mail. They were very nice. I'm glad I stopped in. I got home at 6:05, just before it started getting dark. It was a good day for a ride and I got one in before cold weather hits us again. I can't wait for riding season to come. :biker: ..

  4. traded in the sonata for a 2011 WRX was just ready for a change, always loved the WRX, and had to do alot of searching to find one. i didnt want a premium, and the only new ones i found were premium models. I started looking used, and i only found 4 in Ohio that were in my price range and year range. hell i think there were only like 7 of them total i even found used. And as luck would have it its pearl white. which is what i wanted, but was willing to settle on other colors just for lack of used ones around. had to make a drive to cleveland to get it, but got a good deal on it, and they gave me a more than fair price on my car for trade in. was actually surprised the came up to what they did on my car. they blew out the trade in offers i got down here. cool thing is, its a one owner car, originally bought it TN, was bought by a guy in Hilliard lol. he ended up actually buying a Sonata turbo like my car. wish we would have crossed paths and made a dealer outside of the dealership. plans are to add a COBB Access Port, tint the windows, and call it a day. anyway, only pic i have of it now, salty as hell, but you get the idea.

  11. Thats the problem. Get a credit card and use that. Debit cards get you in trouble because the money is already gone so you have to wait to file a fraud claim. Credit cards watch more closely because they dont want to be stuck with the losses. Prime point you dont want to use a debit card is because it allows access when compromised to clean out your entire account.. Sorry to hear about your situation but take it as a lesson learned. Quit using debit cards ASAP. Hopefully you get all your money back in a timely fashion and it doesnt impact you or your financial responsibilities.

  16. Wow, you are really showing your true fucked up colors. One, it takes a special sort of person to put on a military uniform, Marine, Army, Air Force, Navy.Unless you have served you won't understand. Yes he was a friend to many on this board, to all those that have served. No you wouldn't fucking understand that because you are so wrapped up in your twisted little world. The military is a huge family. What they and there family goes through is so much more than your measly existence. Do you understand what snipers go through? Being out there alone or with one other guy, behind enemy lines? If they get caught there is very little chance of coming out alive? Do you know how many men he has saved? A whole lot more than the number of lives he took. You have no idea the sacrifices he has made. While you get 3 hot meals a day, sleep in your warm bed and house, not worrying about mortars crashing through your roof, not wondering if tomorrow is your last day, wearing the same dirty clothes day after day....yeah you have a great fucking life and yet you feel the need to shit on someone else's because you want to throw your fucked up liberal agenda in there. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=igYKQ08bLKk Repped. Well said man.

  17. you knowingly use clearly unconscionable and crass statements in the hopes of getting attention to your sad little points, opinions, and existence. the fact that you think the key difference is that you're not blaming a deity for your dumb fuckery is astonishing, given how high an opinion you have of your intelligence. it would actually reflect better on you if you blamed some third party for your asinine tard logic... but no, you're just a sad dullard. here, i'm just puzzled. do you lack the ability to relate with anything/anyone that you don't directly interact with? have you been diagnosed with autism or aspergers? it doesn't make sense that you can enjoy the taste of obama dick and yet, you're so far away from him, not a friend, not a neighbor, never rode with him. but here, you don't understand why people might feel sad that a war hero died helping someone. you should probably see a psychiatrist to get the official diagnosis. do you really believe this is the reason he is admired and is famous? because he killed a lot of people? he is lauded for his efforts in the war that resulted in the preventing the loss of lives and injury of american soldiers. this is not hard, it's not a logic puzzle, it's just not being retarded. try to keep up. your disrespect of those who put their lives on the line for their country is unfathomably vile. if you truly believe there is nothing wrong with your opinion on the matter and that it is based on solid logic, please share your opinions of this event, and your opinion of servicemen everywhere with your cousin who is a ranger. the only thing that could be considered ironic is that he risked his life in a war zone for so many years in one of the most dangerous roles a person can take, and in the course of trying to help a fellow veteran, he was murdered by that fellow veteran. it is tragic, not something to be scoffed at by a servile retarded loser with a sad excuse for a life and with comparably nothing to show for his time on this earth. you feel bad for his family, but feel good enough to use the story of his death to throw in some fucking scummy quip? you're a just bad person and an awful human being. that's why. because you can't see why he is special, you feel the need to go into a clearly well intentioned space on the internet where people can express their gratitude for his service to this country and mourn his loss, and exhibit your apathy, disrespect, and to show how much of a piece of shit you are? you disgust me. not just because you are stupid, not just because you are a failure in so many respects, and not just because you lack respect. but because you are simply an awful human being.

  18. Let's see here... Police officers doing their job by enforcing laws they didn't write then acknowledge they got played by being good sports about it and you call them dicks. Tell us, Sherlock, what would you have done different? Would you ignore it so Fuelit could whine about wasted tax dollars or would get all bad ass and take him in? I just love the psychic abilities of some of you arm chairs cops. Anybody can make that call AFTER the incident but have you got the stones to go solo BEFORE you know the situation? My guess is no. Walk a mile... Not to mention they probably have regs dictating how this should be handled. Have good day. One last thing why don't you guys let us know where you work and maybe we can get some kid with nothing better to do to follow you around with a camera while fucking with you. Then we'll take a minute or two out of it, post it up and then all of us can critique you. Sounds like fun!

  19. Your either a troll or an idiot, when will people realize that the 30 or less seconds you have to slow or wait behind a cyclist makes no difference in your MOTOR powered vehicle. For that matter, disregarding cycling all together, when will people realize that the few seconds you speed ahead of someone just to stop at the next light and have them roll up behind you and maybe not even stop as the light turns green again also will not matter in the scheme of things.

  20. I guess this can officially get started, and hopefully annoy Jones and Paul in the process :gabe: Finally decided to pick up some cold weather gear, got out saturday (1/5) for a chilly 37 miles. Average temp 39 degrees, average speed was 16. Had some "fun" battling some snow drifts covering the road out towards Johnstown, about wiped out a couple times, but was only doing a walking pace through it, and wasn't clipped in, so I was expecting it and caught myself. Amazingly stayed warm all day aside from the tips of my toes. http://ridewithgps.com/trips/1080288 So what are everyone's goals this year? For me - 5k+ miles (actual, I don't count miles on the trainer) 6 or more centuries. Get at least one of those centuries done in under 5 hours moving time. More climbing. I know it'll make me stronger. I maybe did 100k feet in ~3700 miles last year. I just gotta get out east and south east more to get this. do RAIN (Ride Across Indiana) one day, 160 mile ride from about the IL border to the OH border. TOSRV down and back (I'll admit though, being that it's a ride known for shitty weather, if it doesn't look good, i'll skip it, or maybe just do day 1) Tackle Starner hill down towards Lancaster. I still haven't gotten a chance to ride it and have heard it's a good challenge Get my average HR down. This will come with time and getting stronger I also want to try to get into mountain biking a little more this year, but im still trying to get my road bike up to where I want it to be, THEN i'll see about buying a MTB. it's a hell of a challenge and quite fun, but right now, road comes first for me. Now onto the cycling haters. Let's hear it.
