Interesting news article about Foothills. Looks like we may be able to ride the new section by 2018... http://www.wbir.com/news/local/foothills-parkway-missing-link-nearly-bridged/3449995262 points

Good mirrors are handy for seeing when you should slow down (or speed up) when a cop's coming up on you in traffic. Also handy when waiting for the group to catch up in the twisties. For lane changes I always do a big head check (especially when traversing multiple lanes). Mirrors never say yes, they only say no. Taking them off a street bike is a sign of limited IQ.1 point

Not sure of the legalities on using camera/monitor for rear views here in Ohio, but might create some delays in your life since the officer stopping you wont see any exterior mirrors on your bike. There's also Reevu helmets that have an overhead mirror that's stationed just above your forward field of vision, but there again...not sure if they're legal as your ONLY source of mirror here in Ohio, and could give leo's a reason to stop.1 point

I've had multiple bikes with bar end mirrors. While I think they look better on a naked bike than stock mirrors. As far as how they work, they give a far better view of what's directly behind you without having to tuck in your elbows all the time. I did find, however, that when looking into them, you lose your peripheral vision on the road ahead of you and that I do not like because you have to look down more than regular mirrors. It's definitely different if you've never used them before...1 point

Stretched was originally an anti-whoolie mod for drag racing, but it got picked up by people who liked the look and started stretching out bikes that are impossible to power wheelie. 'Dem stretched 600's bruh. No mirrors, I have no idea. I like knowing what's behind me. I'll probably be getting rid of my giant rabbit ear mirrors for some bar-ends next season but after riding the track bike around on some back roads for testing purposes, I've found it sucks having to turn your torso around every time you want to see behind you. ** @JustinNck1 CRG has good reviews on their bar-end mirrors. I'll probably get the Triumph branded mirrors though because they look good on the striple:1 point

Keep me in the loop, I will be getting a few. Hell I might even go when you do, not sure though as I don't have a good on track record when you are there.1 point

I agree, I never had a tire move around as much as my PR4s. My Angel GTs used to stick like glue.1 point

I've been a Devin Townsend fan since the 90s with Strapping Young Lad, but it may be a bit much for your ears if you don't enjoy extreme metal.....but check it out anyway, amazing stuff in it's day - and the band has a virtually timeless sound. He's since done a lot of more rock oriented stuff with the Devin Townsend band/project - you may dig on it more as the vox is less abusive.1 point

Thanks.... Yes it rides great. I need to soften the suspension just a bit, but other than that... It's awesome. I would have liked to have tested the 1199 and 1299, but I knew the 959 was the right one for me since I don't run on the track. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

Your best bet is to buy a few certificates over the winter and use them when you can. Mid-O, according to most, is a track you don't want to ride when it's even the slightest bit damp.1 point

That's how I roll 80% of the time, so yea I can judge my usual wear. Just found a sweet deal on BT023's, non GT spec but they are $160 delivered after rebate for the set. Don't think I can go wrong at all.1 point

I'm counting down the days until I can trust my oldest to supervise herself while I'm on the track... God willing, she'll be riding her own bike by then, but i WILL NOT turn into "pit-bitch dad" who plays mechanic and support staff all day, but doesn't get any laps in himself. I'll cut it back to 1 race class, but I'm lapping my kid during practice until she can keep up. For her sake, I hope she's quicker than her old man.1 point

I can't answer your question (although I suspect it'll just be bones), but this has to be the best thread title of the year.1 point

Hi Angie, I'm not far from you in Montgomery. Head down to KY via 275 and get off on the AA/Wilder exit, take 915 to 547 to 10 down to KY22 and back up 159 to 10 - very nice loop. Bubba knows those roads really well and probably has links to various routes.1 point

I love corners and road racing. That being said I can appreciate the talent and control that goes into doing stunts. Is wheeling as wel as other stunts dangerous?? Yes is taking a corner at double the posted speed limit dangerous?? Yes so I think people should throw stones that live in glass houses. Just because someone breaks the law different then you doesn't mean they are any more or less of a Douchebag. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

Sad refrain there. Trying to make a good impression of sportbike riders for these shitty ass drivers is fruitless. The reason they do asshole shit usually has more to do with them than you. I just steer clear, don't engage them & have my fun in a realistically safe manner. Sport bikes are not designed to be ridden in a namby pamby manner that will please Jane in her Prius or Joe in his Malibu.1 point

A '78 MGB - Currently, engine, transmission, gas tank and interior; all out. Top and windshield off. Front suspension and rotted out sub-structure rebuilt. I'm hoping to have it running and safe by late spring, but honestly, I hate this project. It doesn't speak to me at all. The very minute it's done, I'm putting it up for sale for 10% over what I'll have into it. A '97 Jeep TJ, 4cyl, 5spd. Traded my Bandit 1200 for it. It's going to be a mall crawler/street Jeep. I don't have the budget or patience to build a HD rock or mud crawler. Although not a car, this weekend, I'm finally picking up the '84 Honda Magna V45 basket case (free). I figure I'll keep this one at the ready to be worked on should the MG or Jeep get me pi$$ed off.1 point

I'm just downvoting to see how red he can get. I have no dog in this fight, I just like kicking a man when he's down.0 points

? You're an idiot. I do wheelies because I love them. Pointing out how others love seeing them was part of my defense that morons like you are the minority. That doesnt mean its my sole reasoning for doing them. Nonetheless, even if I only do one because somebody wants to see it, how is that being a douche? You sound like a hater. My name?...seriously...its a nickname that Ive used for years...so now you cite my name on a forum that is completely neutral and irrelevent as supporting evidence to the type of person I am...nice bro. If i had a need to be liked I never would have spoken out on this topic...you think I didnt know Id be going against most of the forum?...go to the r6 forum (much bigger) and have a discussion on wheelies and see how popular your idea is there....(I already know...theyre all douchebags right) . I dont need to sit here and argue how likeable I am or not with a moron who has never seen or met me...One person here has, and thats Doobie. Want an opinion on how much of a douche I am? ask him....otherwise keep talking shit to get your rep up on here so you can feel good about yourself.-1 points
