  2. I was up a little early this morning and had some time to kill so I decided to take a little blast up sr83. Still just a little foggy out and early enough that deer were still on the move so I took it a little easier than usual. Let's call it a brisk pace. It seemed like it was gonna be a great morning. As I started into a left hander along came an SUV in the opposite direction but 2/3 into my lane. I stood the bike up to miss it riding deeeeep into the corner before I could throw it over. Edge of the road mid corner deep. The rear started to slip (guessing trash along edge of the road) and my reaction was to hold steady on throttle and try to counter. Shit happened fast and there was no thought involved just reacting to what the bike was doing. I nearly had it straightened up when the ass end bit. I can't believe I stayed on the bike at this point. I'm shocked at just how violent that snap was when the bike straightened up. Other than being a little rattled all was well and I felt very lucky. Needless to say I headed for the house. 5 miles from the house I see a truck with blinker on to turn onto a road to my right. Unsure if he saw me I ease up and the truck straightened up as if to wait for me to pass. At the last moment he decides to make the turn. Pretty sure I was up on one wheel before coming to a complete stop in the middle of the road about 2 feet from the ass hats trailer. What are the odds of this shit twice in one day. Seems some folks need to pay a little more fucking attention behind the wheel.

  4. On Labor Day I took my youngest daughter Ally out for a ride. She has never really expressed a big interest in riding with me other than a ride from school or to a friend's house. I always felt she wanted to be seen on the bike more than she enjoyed riding. What's crazy is this Labor Day ride together was brought on more by my wife than anything. As I was prepping to leave to test out my fuel pump swap, my wife asked her if she wanted to go for a motorcycle ride with me. Her response was I guess so. I took her to the best curves close to us and ran a nice pace through them. When we got home, she said "dad those curves were fun". That setup today's 3hr ride over into Pennsylvania on a road that definitely is better than what we ran a couple weeks ago. When we got home she was smiling ear to ear. She now wants to try a 5-6hr ride with me down south. Now both my daughters enjoy riding with me and for some reason the wife doesn't seem to be as worried as she was in the past about me taking the girls. It's a blast taking my girls for rides and having them enjoy it as much as I do. Now I can give my wife the excuse that riding is quality daddy-daughter time. ?

  6. Nice! The transformer for my house and several neighbors is on a pole in my back yard. We had a young squirrel a couple years ago trip the line breaker, made him pretty crispy. They sent out a third party crew to reset it, but every time they tried, it sent sparks everywhere. Then an actual Edison crew came out to swap out the whole breaker assembly. It was kind of interesting to watch. Anyway, it didn't fry my meter, but I did have a few small electronics stop working. Now everything sensitive is on a surge suppressor.

  7. Going to try a drop bar Mountainbike (Salsa Fargo like). I had the bars and brake calipers off of a different. Picked up an inexpensive SRAM 10speed briffter and matching left brake lever. Also upgraded the front disc to 180mm. Between my weight and the size and grip of the fat bike I needed a little more braking. Hope to give the rig a try at West Branch this afternoon.

  8. My best description for the RS3s is they handle like Angel GTs but get the mileage of PR4GTs. Tip in is much quicker than T30s or PR4GTs.

  9. I like the RS3s so far. I have not been to SEO yet to really get a feel for them in corners, but I have hit a couple of esses near home I like. So far I can't really tell a difference in feel between these and the Pilot Road 2s I was running prior. I'd check with Mike at Riders Discount before I ordered from anyone else. He beat all the prices I researched.
