I mounted mine in weird places all over the bike. One of my favorite's is the rear axle mount that I made... see: http://vimeo.com/11790090 The helmet view looking straight ahead gets boring fast to viewers.1 point

My Interphone iPhone 4/4S kit arrived a few days ago, and I've been riding with it on my KZ650. Some impressions after some trips with it ... When I first took the kit out of the box, it looked kind of big, but when I put it on my bike, it fits the handlebars well. The only needed tool is a Phillips head screwdriver. The handlebar mount itself has an adjustable stalk that raises the phone about an inch and a half above, which helped keep it out of the way of cables and other obstructions. There is a tightening ring around the stalk that can easily be griped and hand-adjusted to lock the phone in whatever angle you need it to be to read. The case for the phone has a built-in screen protector in the flip down cover, as well as external button to hit the Home button. That makes it easy to hit when your iPhone has gone to sleep if you just want to quickly wake it up check the time. The other buttons have rubber extensions that allow you to control them (volume, power). There is a rubber stopper that protects the headphone port when not being used, and a window in the back for the camera. The flip down cover has latches that help lock the cover in place. That case can be easily removed off the mount, but not in a way that I was worried about it coming off while riding. The case itself is very large, larger than even a "rugged" case like an Otterbox. Much of this is to provide plenty of protection, and internally, there's a rather large rubber piect that encases all but the front of the phone. There is space to route a normal iPhone 4/4S charging cable, protecting it as well as the phone. That's a plus, because I quickly found that I actually started using my phone to help with my rides. It functions reasonably well as GPS with the right app, though you do need to turn your brightness up a bit when the sun is out. Even on a normal ride, the case helps with the Speedometer Pro app for all the info it provides. Now I can see just how off my speedometer can be. It's not as universal as some other solutions I've seen, but I'm happy with it on my ride.1 point

If you were insulted by the comments made about the types of people who usually attend poker runs...you need some thicker skin. Also, you don't have to defend your name/club or...lifestyle? (whatever that means) as far as I can tell nobody here has said anything bad about you or your club... (nobody here has said they were familiar with your group, and it sucks..for example) Most of the people here are good people, I can personally vouch for a bunch of them, but we are not defined by our motorcycles, we are not a "group" but a random array of individuals with one thing in common, we enjoy 2 wheeled conveyance of some sort... For some it's getting better times on track days, for others it's roaming the countryside on a modern antique... the list goes on, and on, and on... for a site with over 4000 members. All individuals with their own ideas about motorcycling. This seems to be a trend among "group" riders, they have a narrow view of what motorcycling "should" be, and it usually involves some unnecessary bureaucracy, and class structure. "ride our kinda bike, respect our chain of command, adhere to our image...etc etc" have some positive rep, chill out, and don't take the internets so srsly1 point

I’m not sure how people can judge people to the point of being rude and insulting…it’s quite comical actually….Thinking this Ohio Rider’s Forum is not quite what I thought it was going to be. You all have fun thou…I personally have better things to do then defend my name, club, lifestyle or anything else for that matter. I simply came here thinking of meeting others with the same interest but that obviously is not the case here. Really before you go judging others you might want to take a closer look at how your wonderful comments make you look…NEVER had that problem with the “drunken, sleeveless, unskilled” group of people I hang with! For those of you that would like to join us uncivilized people for a great cause…Hope to see ya there! Peace out…1 point

I'm not a skater so I'm not wearing vans with shorts, I'm also not 12 so I'm not wearing basketball shoes with shorts. Leaves me with only 1 other option that doesn't look like I have a mental handicap and that is sandals1 point

Love poker runs, the best way I know of to get hammered and ride a heap of steel with no muffler in flip flops and a sleeveless shirt wearing one of those dew rag helmets. Good times.1 point

Pulling the bar to your chest is not to help get the front up so much as keep you from leaning back and going over backwards. It is more important when you are standing on the pegs as your weight is higher.1 point

I think $4800 is a little high for an '09.I have an '08 and I seriously doubt I could get more than $2800-$3000 out of mine...but I have about 20,000 miles on it. To my way of thinking the KLR is basically a road bike...it's pretty heavy for anything offroad. If you're going to be playing in deep sand or a lot of off road I'd look for something lighter, maybe a KTM or DRZ.If you're planning on long rides and some off road,KLR might work for you.1 point
