  1. Hello Everyone, My name is Cory, I live in Youngstown Ohio and own a home built 1989 Nissan 240sx with a Nissan RB26/30 conversion (R32 GTR head on a Holden Commodore bottom end – AU car only). I also have begun to love fabrication and am just starting to learn how to tig weld which is perfect for my car hobby because now most everything I hated about my setup is getting fixed with properly homemade parts to suit. http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c183/Shockster0429/DarlasFirstsetofpics170.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c183/Shockster0429/DarlasFirstsetofpics179.jpg http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c183/Shockster0429/IMAG0401.jpg A couple weeks ago catch can project http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c183/Shockster0429/IMAG0406.jpg The car is essentially a 100% street car, its half gutted from the seats back, full interior seats forward. Its raw and a drivers car IMO. I have no ABS, AC, PS (converted my rack to a manual) or another other driver aids. The car has gone 10.84@132.5 on pump gas with a old school PTE6765, the video is posted below, feel free to browse through my other videos I have a few. (go-pro sound pickup on the outside of my car does not do it justice…) The car gets driven everyday its not wet out, or potentially going to be wet out. I almost wrecked it last year just cruising @ 50mph with my ET streets.. it’s not worth the risk. I average 250-350 miles on it a week roughly, its a blast to drive. The reason I joined was because I felt I was too close to a good car scene not to. I plan to make a few weekend visits to C-bus this summer and maybe even run National Trials. I also here a large number of you come up closer to my way every so often so I figured it would be nice to get acquainted.

  2. He is taken. I however would be willing to munch some box so long as it wasn't an airbox and it was inspected before sale

  3. No problem, we will see what is going on with your bike and we can go from there

  4. Send me a PM and I'll fill you in on the details. There is some skill involved, mostly luck, and an open mind on putting things in your mouth while blindfolded. But there's one thing I learned from this thread. And its that there are probably people better at getting free shirts than you. You should probably just quit and not try before you wind up with something in your mouth you don't like and no t shirt.

  5. Every bike that is sold through our shop goes through an inspection. Safety issues are taken care of right away, with no questions asked. Other non-safety issues are talked about between myself and the sales department to see if it is something that we would like to repair/fix. Air filters ARE NOT checked in our inspections. Some bikes are very easy to check, and other bikes take much longer to check. As it has been said, we would be losing money if we were to spend 1-2 hours (depending on the bike) to check every single air filter on every single bike we have. I DO check my techs' work from time to time, and I DO NOT let it go if they say they checked something/did something that they did not do, and that is on every bike we service, not just our sales bikes. I take great pride in having a service department that does great work, and I will continue to run my shop in this manner. As far as your air filter goes. I would have had NO ISSUE selling you a K&N filter at cost, all you had to do was call the store. I want the customers that come into this shop to have a great experience, and you don't have to spend money in here to get that kind of treatment either. Feel free to call and talk to me, Casey, when you get free time and we can talk this through. I will still try to do something, even after reading this thread.

  7. Ever since I was 18, I've been working. I've been at my current job for 10 years, and it is becoming a dead-end quickly. I am surrounded by ass-kissing know-nothing jerkoffs that get ahead by being yes men. I hear from these people (that haven't really ever produced anything for this company- managers) that the only way I will get ahead is by getting a degree. I've proven many times over that I'm capable of doing much more than my education level, but the dickhead that is over everything is so hung up on his piece of paper from a well-respected school that it's pretty obvious I will never be qualified, whether I am or not. I have 2 kids at home, and if I go back to school I won't see them at all. Hell, I'm 36... by the time I'm done, I can retire! My life has been the same grind for years now. There is no light at the end of the tunnel any more. I've seriously considered killing myself lately, but I'm too much of a pussy, and I don't think God would like that too much. So, I'm thinking about becoming a non-productive member of society. Quit the job and let it all go to hell. It seems to work for some people. I assume a divorce is in my future, as well as losing all my stuff. I'll let you all know when the bikes go up for sale. I also have some guitars and drums and stuff. Circle the vultures!

  9. Hey all!!! What a freaking crazy weekend! I loved every second of it! I was down on HP from the second we got there and it went downhill from there! Man I thought I had most the bases covered and BAM the motor was weak and I was in the back! Shifter fell off in race1 due to a c clip that has never let me down. Race 2 was better, but I was forced to bonsai every brake point to just see the other racers. AMA Pro is a great feeling and I am so proud to even be in last! Mid-O I am deff getting motor ready and even a backup motor just in case lol. Thanks OR for the support and see you at mid-ohio!! P.S (drama part lol) To the girl that said I should edit the unbrella girl pics GO FUCK YOURSELF! They are hard workers and hotter than you could ever be!

  11. Did you at least use mouth wash before kissing your wife?
    2 points
  12. Nope, I sure can't. I put the cart before the horse here for sure. I made the wrong assumption that they would tell me to fuck off since I bought the bike with no warranty. The filter, to me, was just an example of what I considered to be their attention to detail. Please give me a little more credit here guys, I PLANNED to change it and the oil as well as a few other things. As I stated here before, I'll try to make things right with them. Even though I might not deserve a second chance, they deserve a first chance. Is that enough to calm everybody down or do I need to apologize to every member here?

  17. Lead in a .38 special? No harm if you clean it well. Most of the lead will come back out when cleaning the barrel. It's just easier when shooting only copper jackets. Same deal though, most of the copper comes back out. Some lead or copper always remains behind. But it's usually filling in small imperfections or corrosion pitting, and does no harm.

  18. Attorney General, Eric Holder, has already said this is one of his major issues. He does not believe the 2nd Amendment gives individuals the right to bear arms. This takes literally 2 clicks to complete. Please vote on this gun issue question with USA Today. It will only take a few seconds of your time. Then pass the link on to all the pro- gun folks you know. Hopefully these results will be published later this month. This upcoming year will become critical for gun owners with the Supreme Court's accepting the District of Columbia case against the right for individuals to bear arms. Here's what you need to do: First - vote on this one. Second- launch it to other folks and have THEM vote - then we will see if the results get published. Click below to vote. http://www.usatoday.com/news/quickquestion/2007/november/popup5895.htm?AID=4992781&PID=4003003&SID=1nusupg9sqte0 I think this may be old, just passing it along...?

  22. Deuterium fusion reactor. It's not for producing a laser beam, it's for using a laser beam to generate energy and convert it to usable power. The US Navy was working on one of these back in the 80s, to power up battle lasers on the deck of the ship. It takes a LOT of power on demand to do that. If the ship doesn't have a nuclear reactor, it would need something like this. Or even if it does have a reactor. (I know, that would be producing a laser beam.) Don't ask me why they spelled deuterium wrong, I have no clue... Wiki definition: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fusion_power And here's a guy building one at home. Power out isn't any greater than power in, yet. http://www.popsci.com/science/article/2010-06/deuterium-diy-man-builds-homemade-nuclear-fusion-reactor-brooklyn Btw, tritium is hydrogen-3 and difficult to find on the Earth. It's produced as a byproduct of nuclear reactors. Only about 500 pounds of it have been made since 1955. It decays into helium-3, which the Moon is covered with on it's surface. It's a fuel source, but you have to go get it and bring it back.

  23. Wow. Drug yourself instead of fixing the problem? Pop a pill and make it all better? He clearly does not have a chemical imbalance because he sees the hollow nihilism in treading water in the rat race. That is bordering on, nay is, mind control. Dude don't listen to the brainwashed here, trust yourself. YOU ARE THE SANE ONE. THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH YOU.

But, that kind of info coming from you is about as confidence inspiring as thinking Jbot isn't Asian... Back to the t-shirt stuff. That shit's funny! Oh, and Serpentinebelt - try and stay out of the conversation if you take over a day to respond. M'kay?

  35. Which IS union self-entitlement bullshit. Fagbusa herp derp. No one owes you anything. Don't like it? Pick yourself up by your bootstraps and find something else to do. You're lucky we let you live in this country. And I guarantee if it's from the great Paul Ryan he's doing it for a reason....to save taxpayers THEIR money. This is no different than all those spoiled school teachers bitching for their union entitlements when he tried to put a stop to the theft last year. Fucking socialist scum.

  36. Some buddies and I recently bought bikes from Independent. On mine particularly, I wanted a service history on the bike or at least the last time something was done, they told me what they had done recently but honestly couldn't tell me anything beyond what they had done so he helped me filled me in on the service intervals on the bike. They even had my buddies bike in there for some 'routine' things to be done to it and a unfortunate event occurred but both the shop and my buddy came to reasonable terms to overcome the problem that happened. I've heard all kinds of negative press from other bike shops in the area who have down talked this group. But from personal experience from myself and three of my friends, we've never had an issue with them that hasn't been settled by simply bringing up our concern and how we'd like to have it handled and allowing for small degrees of compromise ... You know ... Being adults.
