  1. MAILS HERE.... Trail Tech Vapor (steath) with idiot lights...no the hard part...creating a good mount. But im very happy with the product, cant wait to get it wired and running.
  2. Not yet...I have an idea to do a black with a metallic flake rootbeer...but I'm not sure how complicated that maybe being my first time painting with a legit gun
  3. pictures of nearly finished seat/cowl... just have a few spots to fill.
  4. Update... Got a hold of the engine builder...eta for engine is next week. Spent some money yesterday on eBay...picked up a trail tech vapor and dash along with a gsxr1000 master cylinder. Picked up a battery that fits nicely under seat cowl. Finishing up seat and cowl...just a yoga mat for q cushion...just need to touch up some body filler...paint it...wrap cushion
  5. Heres another...pricey but great looking pieces. If i do another i think i might just get one of these tank seat combos. http://www.benjiescaferacer.com/home.html The seat/hump on mine i made out of fiberglass. took me a while and was messy but i think it turned out pretty good for my first build.
  6. Sam...the sites that i kinda look at for parts are, dimecitycycles.com lowbrowcustoms.com but, most of my build i find myselff making my own parts. depends how custom you want.
  7. ill sell ya mine when im done...lol http://www.ohioriders.net/showthread.php?t=68121&highlight=cafe+project
  8. Check it out http://bikerscafeblog.com/2011/04/26/motus-mst-on-barber-motorsports-park-video/#more-14235 Just have to watch it with your eyes closed...for im no fan of the looks, but that sounds...O what a sound
  9. im a bobber fan...48 all the way. ive ridden the night rod, not a fan of the ridding position
  10. thats pretty amazing that your able to find your actual bike after all those years...id be very tempted to getting it back depending on condition
  11. Thanks guys...I get so excited everytime i look at it. i just want it done. ive always wanted to build a bike, but it was a bucketlist item-thinking it wouldnt be a possibility till much later in life. doing some finishing work on the seat...and sealing the tank this weekend. will update as always.
  12. ill have to look into the vstorm hubs... ...another build that i got my inspiration from was able to mat a harlery narrow glide front wheel on. i looked on Storz webpage and see that they are able to get those narrow glide hubs with dual rotor setup and 1" axle. though it would require some machining, it is a possiblity. hopefully the vstorm is a better option that i didnt think of.
  13. GOOD NEWS...Tank is done. Mike really surprised me and had my tank done today before he went out of town...way better than i had expected for the hack job i made out of the tank. petcock hubs looks so damn good to me...cant wait for the engine now.
  14. If I can find one with a 1" axle ill be in business But I would like to use the gixxer calipers
  15. i might have to rock miss-matched wheels for a while until i can figure out a solution. id like to get a spoked wheel up front ultimately.
  16. ...finally, ive had the forks for quite a while now and its great to see them on the way they should be. Too bad i dont have the tank done welded yet or the engine to get the full picture. more time for me to get the seat done.
  17. Went and had the steering head bearings pressed in today...should be able to get the front end mocked up tonight and figure out how to make the steering stops. At the least ill have an actual rolling chassis tonight
  18. ill be around... ...just have to pick up the pace on the build
  19. Haha...looks like this is the same bike he did the other week. http://cincinnati.craigslist.org/mcy/2315323326.html
  20. Dropped the tank off to get welded up...probably be a few weeks b/c he'll be outta town. This guy mike welded up the frame rail for me too. Heres a link to his shops facebook and it has pictures of another cafe he did to body for the other week. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Cornfield-Customs-Ltd/112955372074399?closeTheater=1 Im pretty siked.
  21. i also got the old steering head bearing races out...which was a pain. ended up breaking a rental tool from o'rieleys. good thing they dont charge you for damages. now im eager to get the new bearings pressed in the frame and on the gixxer triple trees so i can have an actual rolling chassis.
  22. some more details tied-up... molded in the taillight imbedded a way to fasten seat pan and cowl...cotter pins and pin holders... mocked up side panels for tank cutouts...not sure if i want to trim them or let my welder do it...not sure how much he wants to work with. also drilled holes for petcock bungs, not shown. threw on the swingarm and shocks to get a better picture...
  23. messing around with the headlight grille...its almost where i want it.
  24. I went to talladega last summer...dropped by the museum on a whim=one of the most mermorable places ive been to in my life. i recommend if anyone ever finds themselves within 500miles of this place...go to it...well worth it.
