  1. I don't think anyone here is whining about lifestyle/ethnic parades or festivals. I think people are upset because its such a big deal that someone wants a festival for being a white male (or rather wants to make a point about the unfairness of it being ok that there are all of these festivals for other lifestyles/ethnicities, but completely NOT ok to celebrate if you are a white male). So you think white men have it easy? So, why not be allowed to celebrate how easy your life is? Maybe some white men don't think they have it easy because they got passed up for scholarships or jobs, so why should they not gather in a festival to enjoy each others company and lament on missed opportunities? They aren't excluding anyone, it clearly says "everyone welcome". The best part about a public festival, is that you don't have to go if you don't want to. Its just so dumb that people are getting upset about this... especially since it probably isn't even real.
  2. I think the name is ok. It serves its purpose and is probably less offensive than if it was modeled after other festival names in columbus. Here are some other possiblities... 1. Asian festival - Caucasian festival 2. Gay Pride Parade - White Pride Parade 3. Ohio Lesbian Festival - Ohio Straight Festival
  3. One of my fish died the day after I posted this...
  4. There's lots of struggles for straight white guys! One very obvious one being that they apparently can't even have a festival without upsetting people.
  5. This thread makes me sad, and grateful for my luck.
  6. I think I'm good now.
  7. I just registered but I didn't specifically see moto escort anywhere to sign up for... so... I'll look again.
  8. Pretty cool fish - very pretty. I hear ya about feeling sad though. I've had angelfish for probably 7 years now. My last three fish are about 3 now, but I've raised them from eggs. Always makes me sad to see them flushed... although yours probably required a higher effort burial.
  9. Cleveland: once the butt of America's jokes... Just a few years ago (its streets) were derelict and dangerous.
  10. I had a girl's handle bars fall off her bike. I had my bike wrenches and we got her on her way in less than a minute. Stuff like that is nice because you don't have to call the vans in. I found quite a few people on the second day that were dehydrated and stopped next to the road. Even though you call in the vans, people are usually pretty grateful to get some water while waiting. I plan on having a small tool kit, water, and some random food assortment on my bike.
  11. that article: Cleveland is awesome because - 1. We got a basketball player back that we hated like a year ago. 2. We're going to have a bunch of sleezy politicians here 2 years from now. 3. The rock hall of fame hasn't stopped functioning.
  12. I would think thats because drugs are illegal. Being a fan of mediocre music is not. ?
  13. fucking magnets, how do they work? Seriously though, to classify a group of people as a gang solely on their music preferences is idiotic. Although, I highly doubt anyone is going to charge you with a gang crime because you have an ICP tattoo. They probably felt the need to create the classification of Juggalos as a gang in order to pursue tougher criminal charges on the sub-groups that are violent. So here's an idea: don't commit any violent crimes or steal anything, and this classification will likely never really effect you. I'm pretty sure we've all made dumb choices, maybe some of those are more visible than others (certain tattoos...). Tweak, if you like your tattoo, that's all that matters. If you don't, well hopefully you've at least learned something from it.
  14. I could see if I can get the Kawi running if you can't find one.
  15. Btw, perhaps I'm mistaken, but the two types of IUDs that you mentioned (hormonal and copper) both work by causing damage to sperm before egg fertilization and then, should that fail, make the uterus lining less tolerant of egg attachment. But, like I mentioned earlier, many birth control pills also change the lining of the uterus to make egg attachment unlikely. If you know something I don't know about how these to IUDs work, please school me, after all that's why I started the thread. TEACH US TONIK!!!!
  16. "you women" huh? I don't think I'm owed anything. I just wanted to hear what people thought and tried to produce counter points for discussion.
  17. Tonik, you've been getting crankier lately. Everything ok?

My coworkers who are Korean and Chinese said that it is Japanese lettering. lol. Sorry!
  19. I agree, had she been more respectful, it would have changed the whole situation around, but since when do we get arrested for being disrespectful?
  20. (kinda) sorry for trying to stir the pot, I like hearing people's opinions.
  21. Many birth control pills also claim to work in a way that changes the lining of your uterus to make it less likely that a fertilized egg will attach. When a company knows that a pill form of birth control can also cause this 'early term abortion', do they get the right to take these off the list as well?
  22. Isn't that kind of a moot point though? Whether you want the new healthcare system or not is kind of irrelevant because it is in place. To me, I think this can only be a victory if you think (or if it comes to happen) that the new healthcare laws will be reversed to the previous system or a system in which businesses can choose to give you whatever healthcare that they want and you consider as part of the perks of employment with that company (how I think it should be) as a result of this step-stone ruling. If that's the case, hooray, back to individual freedom. If it is not, then as of right now, we have women who require certain medical treatment who are being forced to partake in the new healthcare laws AND not necessarily able to benefit from them. Again though, it seems that the people who call this a victory seem to be the people who are opposed to the new healthcare laws, the people who call it defeat are people who are forced into the system or otherwise support the system and foresee the negative effects on women's healthcare. Also, where are the boundaries? If a company says they won't pay for birth control should vasectomies be eliminated as well? Should the company have to prove that they are wholly committed to their beliefs (magz post on hobby lobby investing in companies that produce IUDs)? or do they just get to be hypocrites for the sake of saving money for the company? All of this WITH regard for the current health care laws! Because what we SHOULD be doing and what we are ACTUALLY doing are/could be two different things, and quite frankly you can argue till you are in blue in the face about what we should be doing, but that doesn't make it so *sad face* so it makes more sense to discuss what is actually relevant rather than ideal situations.
  23. Unless I misunderstood, the link you posted says specifically that people are required to state their name and that the court case cited that ID cards are not required.
  24. sure, but that is a reason to be against 'obamacare', not a reason to be against upholding the requirement to provide medications to a particular group of people under the current system... I know people who are against government intervention, obamacare, and mandates on businesses in general are saying that this is a success. In a way, I think they are right, but the success seems like its from the perspective of dishing out a blow to the general idea of obamacare, not necessarily a success for the people who are forced to use the system.
