  1. I've always wanted to go to one of these. Unfortunately, I'm out of town
  2. I actually think that food looks pretty good, but I've been drinking, so there's that.
  3. I ran just short of a mile the other day and was a wreck! I looked back on my running records and 6 short months ago, I did a 10 mile run just for the hell of it. So frustrating. I've decided to ease back into it. I'm doing a 30 day challenge because it only takes 15 minutes out of my day and its building my confidence. I'm on day 5.
  4. Did you guys drug me? j/k, I remember. I just forgot temporarily. I enjoyed breakfast! Maybe I'll follow you guys on my bike so that I don't get car sick this time Or my credit cards, or my phone... i still feel like an idiot. Stranded in kentucky on my first time out of state on my bike.
  5. Oh geeze. I hope not! I'm going to zip my pockets up this year before I leave. What breakfast??
  6. Isn't that how its always been anyway?
  7. I'm with ya. I try to approach every problem with being really nice. Its only after several attempts of "nice doesn't work here" does ultra bitch come out.... its a quick transition too :-/ For this particular issue, these people feed off attention - and they get so much of it. Best just to ignore them and accept that they're all just crazy a-holes.
  8. Been stuffing my face with rice cakes while writing my dissertation... Lol. I've made worse choices.
  9. I'd really like to do a couple long(ish) hiking trips this summer. I want to do a 3-4 day run of pictured rocks in MI, and also maybe a week on AT. I haven't really done too many long hikes (time wise), but I've done a few 1-2 day hikes that were very challenging. I spent about a week and did "Bridge to Nowhere" in LA, then "Surprise Canyon to Panamint City" near death valley, a couple miles around death valley, then into and out of the grand canyon over 2 days taking the Angel Trail out and South Kaibab in. We hiked over 50 miles in just under a week, so it was pretty tiring, but amazing. I have to say though, it adds a whole new dimension to hiking when you don't get to shower. When I was done with this week of hiking, even though I had a car and obviously drove between sites, I didn't stay in a hotel for 4 days and at the end, I felt so gross (the thermometer at the bottom of the canyon was reading 120+, so i probably was super gross). Over coming my desire to wash my hair semi-regularly would be really hard for me . Anyway, CSC, thanks for sharing. It will be interesting to see what he finds to be most challenging/rewarding.
  10. Round 1 was crazy. I know the Buckeyes tend to choke when it matters, but I felt like I had to pick them to win a round My bracket is a mess now because I had Duke going to the final 4... out so early.
  11. Its looking like I'm going to be able to go... yay.
  12. I'm assuming there are just dude size shirts?
  13. So... how do you know your buddy is dead if you don't stop and check?
  14. I think I'm going to sign up for that one.
  15. Went to a different gym than I normally go to today, they had a different brand of equipment, so I was the girl reading the instructions on every piece of equipment I used, lol. I was sad to find out that my arms are super weak! I had to use 90lbs assist on dips whereas I was only using 75lbs before, and I had to cut my reps to 5 instead of 10. sad stories. the good news: I can do 1 whole push up now (not a lady pushup, I can do 15 of those)! haha.
  16. I'm a little jealous of your 2200 calories a day.
  17. Shitty. Well, I hope your gym experience gets better. Maybe you could ask them for a quick tour too. One of my gyms had a movie theater style cardio room that I didn't even know about for like a month!
  18. What do you think is the most helpful part? I was thinking about getting one of these, but wonder if it would help beyond what I'm doing already (tracking nutrition, exercise). I noticed it tracks sleep. That's pretty cool.
  19. Normally (in my experience) when you join a gym, they give you at least a quick tour, show you where everything (including the locker room) is and tell you all the rules (like not leaving your stuff in a locker over night). Did Planet Fitness do this? I used My Fitness Pal to lose 13 lbs last fall. I love the scanning bar codes option.
  20. I realized I can't do a single (complete) pushup. lol. That's my short term goal. I want to do a push up (with good form) by next week. Gotta start somewhere.
  21. I'll probably put one together in April if someone else doesn't do it first ...
