Well, that wasn't exactly what I was expecting... When I bought it last year, I dropped 2350 into the ride (after haggling him down from $2800, lol). Lest anyone think that I'm trying to rip off whomever might want to buy the bike, I'm not... I would simply be shooting for enough to defray the immediate cost of another purchase. I don't want to miss a single bit of the season, heh. Add to that the not inconsequential service I've dropped into this ride in the year of ownership and it's looking like the bike shouldn't be for sale right now... that 1500 you quoted wouldn't barely cover the cost of upkeep and maintenence since purchase. The clutch replacement murdered me... If you think the price is unfair, then it is. I'll probably delete this thread later tonight.

Just found out that a co-worker of mine and her husband got sideswiped this past weekend. They're both all right, but she had a rather nasty compound fracture of her ankle and her hubby broke his leg as well. Apparently, some cager was approaching them from behind at an uneven, obliquely-angled intersection and got broadsided when the car pulled into their lane.

Strongly considering this, after a fashion. I have to figure out a way to clip my iPhone to the bars, I think. I use it for GPS but I'm scared to death of it popping out due to wind-blast or something random and losing my phone on the freeway. edit - and my phone will do video.

On a related note, I saw a guy on a Harley smoking a pipe today. Managed to look a lot less douchey than it sounds describing it. He was still a no-helmet squid, but it looked classier than smoking a cigarette.

Morning, all, I believe it is time to step up from my starter ride. After a solid 4000 miles, my Suzuki needs a new owner. Asking $2499 obo, and I'm open to full or partial trades (plus cash from you to me, or from me to you) for older large-displacement sportbikes/standards. werd, i'd say a sudden deceleration in an extremely tight section of the track would be way more dangerous than maintaining line and speed...

This is true. There was a case in Old Brooklyn involving Best Buy about eighteen months ago that came to this very conclusion. It's illegal if you're causing a public disturbance, which he clearly was.

um... The report was actually 2 people breaking in. Him, and his driver, I think.

The problem was that he initially refused to identify himself. When he did, they left. He then FOLLOWED THEM out onto the front lawn, screaming, "This is what happens to black men in America!!" over and over again, after repeated requests and then threats to keep it down or he'd be arrested. One of the cops took out his handcuffs, asked him one more time to stop shouting, and he kept on going, so they arrested him for disorderly conduct. He had actually drawn a crowd because he was being so loud. Open and shut. The fact that the political overseers in that county/this state dropped the case is laughably permissive. Obama should keep his damned mouth shut, too. It's not a federal matter; this isn't something the President is authorized to weigh in on.

My current ride is too Really my budget depends on what I get for trade on my bike. Another forum-denizen is buying mine, hopefully at or just slightly below posted price. I won't have a problem dropping another $500 or so on top of the 2500 from the sale... it just depends on what my baseline is. I'm really looking for 100 HP or better, in a larger-framed bike that's not going to get me all twisty.
