I always tell my female friends that if a guy tries to get you on the back of his bike and doesn't give you a helmet, jacket and gloves, makes you wear pants and boots (at least tied shoes) and/or doesn't go over ground rules while on the back of the bike, tell him to fuck off, he doesn't give a shit about what happens to you. If he is not wearing gear himself, that is an automatic no. Can't really do anything about someone lying and saying they are a safe rider. But those simple things to think about should weed out a lot of dbags.

If you are running LED probably not, they don't draw much current.

Some LED bulbs have built in cut-offs. I had projectors on the SV that did a decent job of cutting it off. (It was ok but I didn't care because I typically didn't ride at night and the light that did get dispersed just added to my safety.) @2talltim is the most recent to install into non-projector housings. May want to ask him how these went. From what I'm reading about the Auxbeams, they have some sort of internal cut off. From Amazon: Throw super bright light on the road evenly at appropriate angle without dark spots/foggy light. Solid beam pattern with sharp cut-off line, will not dazzle on-coming traffic.

So long as you buy the correct ones. Only thing to warn you about is the additional space it needs right behind the bulb itself. They usually have cooling fins and a little fan there (mine do, these may not) so you may be able to get your headlight boot (whatever you want to call it) around it or not. But yes, should plug right into your old headlight connector.

LED is the way to go now. I don't even want to think of how much money I've sunk into HID bulbs and ballasts and wiring harnesses over the years.
