  1. I dare you to try it. Seriously, I can't wait to hear about you on 10TV
  2. It *might* help, but no promises. And it will most likely ride like shit on the street.
  3. Not too many of them around here. I know that one of the Honda guys on here that actually went through a type R swap wishes he had just left the car stock and used it for a daily driver, and picked up something else to mod. Listen, I can't speak for anyone else, but I'm not trying to be a dick. You seem to be fairly new to the car world, and we are honestly trying to help. I know what it's like to waste a bunch of money on a stupid idea, I've been there and I would like to give advice to people to help them from making the same mistakes. Take it as you will, but being hardheaded about this probably isn't the way to go. Just stop and listen for a bit, you could very well learn something. If you are truly wanting to do a swap, or even just wanting to be different, at least start off with a rear wheel drive platform. Front wheel drive is far to fragile and costly to be worth going with, not to mention the horrible traction problems.
  4. Fuck, isn't wasn't long ago that I ran into you at Chipotle and you had the bike. I hope everything ends up alright. Maybe this is a sign that it's time to try another turbo brick And like Scott said, if you have no interest on keeping the bike, at least find out what the buyback price is. If Scott passes over it and it's a reasonable price, I will probably take it.
  5. To be brutally honest, probably not. There have been plenty of probes out there with plenty of people thinking they would be fun to mod. Unless you somehow happen to have a turbo model (rare) then don't even bother. Something else to keep in mind is that you can swap a type r motor into a civic and whatever else, and then it's only as fast as a STOCK LT1 Camaro. Is it worth the work? Not when you can pick up a stock LT1 Camaro for 5 grand.
  6. The one listed by the board would be Stillman Also Jesse and two other people
  7. Probe = cheap, semi-reliable daily driver. Leave it at that. VR4 = Heavy, semi-reliable, expensive to mod/fix, and not really great at any one thing. Ok, AWD helps you launch...but it's heavy, don't really need it. 1/4 mile track times aren't great because of the parasitic loss of the AWD and the weight slowing you down. Take it out to a roadcourse, you are destroying brakes and trannies. It won't even keep up with stock 240sx's because, again, its too heavy. As for the Probe idea...at over 200,000 miles the engine is going to be too tired to handle any kind of upgrading. It will either need a solid rebuild, or a replacement if you plan on doing anything more than an intake and exhaust. An intake really won't help you out at all, just get a decent drop in filter. An exhaust probably won't help you out either. Increasing exhaust diameter decreases backpressure. Backpressure builds up low-end torque. However, a lack of backpressure does help top end, which is not something that would help you in the least with a street car. Keep the low end torque for leaving stoplights, leave your exhaust alone.
  8. Sawbinder and the handful of other officers on here are upstanding members of our community. 420GSXR1000, on the other hand, simply wishes to badmouth authority. I think it should be blatently obvious why the Admins/Mods of this board are becoming very unhappy with all of the negative comments generated towards police. I would hate to see Sawbinder leave because he thinks that people on here dislike him. Gixxer boy, on the other hand....watch the door on the way out.
  9. You forgot the most important part. The one about postwhoring getting an automatic negative post count.
  10. Your wittiness astounds me.
  11. Central Ohio is flat, I've driven a two wheel drive truck for the last few winters. Get a cheap set of wheels and cheap snow tires at least on the rear, preferrably at all four corners, and just be careful. You won't have a bit of trouble. I've only lost control when I was already screwing around having fun going broadside around every turn.
  12. I've noticed that redheads either have great racks, or they are flat. They are also almost always insane. I'd love to get one in bed, but past that I dunno, don't think I could deal with the crazyness.

  17. 270 S to Roberts exit, turn right. It's in the shopping center on the left at the corner of Roberts and Hilliard Rome Rd by the Kroger or Big Bear or whatever the fuck that grocery store is. Being out of town sucks, I'd love to make it to this meet
  18. First off, the atkins diet is bullshit. I know you didn't mention it, but don't even consider it. Once you start to get off the diet, you will end up just where you started. Scott lost a considerable amount of weight in about a 3 month span on a diet he found. You may wish to talk to him about just to help you get started, then once his plan has run it's course you will be at a much better position to actually start working out. Good luck with this, when I'm done with this training in Georgia, I've been putting some thought into quitting smoking and getting a gym membership. Who knows, this may be a good time for a few of us on here to get into a shape other than round smile.gif
