I was out driving until 2 am last night in the ice storm, zero problems. Just woke up, so I haven't been outside yet, but I have every intention of driving my little two wheel drive truck to Marietta tonight, with a stop in the town of Amanda to see some relatives. I was following a third gen camaro on the way into my apartment complex last night, around 2 am. Unfortuanately, it was headed into my complex, where it immidiately got stuck (in my way, I was going to drift the turn). So, I pulled into the entrance across the street, and jumped out to give the person a push. The driver ended up being a complete white trash woman, who could barely figure out how to pull it back into drive, I was pissed. A little shove later, and she was out of my way.

I know that you already got tires, but I just wanted to reiterate that all-season's are worthless. I've become a strong believer that you don't want a compromise tire. A set of steelies with cheap snow tires does wonders in the winter, and agressive tires for summer on nice wheels. This is the third winter that I've used the same set of snow tires, and they still had great tread life on them when I mounted them on the truck last week. I think last winter I ran them until about April, just to be sure there would be no more snow. I'm going to throw a couple of other wheels into the bed of my truck for weight, I've already had some trouble on ice this week, but I was always able to move at least enough to get out of the situation. Oh, and my snow tires were $50 a piece.

He replaced the blower last night, that part of the problem is solved. The HVAC control panel is still fucked. I've seen other people with the same problem in the same year truck. Anyone know if he can use a control panel from a different year truck that will actually be reliable, even though he's got a bastard year truck? Or should he just go ahead with his soldering iron and finish making it work in a ghetto way?
