Isn't your Exploder based off of the Ranger platform? Either way, I wouldn't tow anything bigger than a jetski with a compact truck or any suv. I can certainly understand why towing your car with the Exploder wasn't safe. However, a fullsize truck was designed to tow a lot more than a compact truck or suv. I've pulled trailers for years, Evan has for far longer than I, and neither of us have ever had a problem. We're used to homebuilt trailers, and now that Even decided that he wanted to look for a quality, reasonably priced trailer, he gets shit from everyone about the truck he has to pull with? That's fucked up.

Damn. So maybe I shouldnt have pulled a 1,200 pound, homemade double-axle trailer, with no trailer brakes, with 8,000 pounds of shit going to the scrapyard, with my dad's half ton Dodge? What was I thinking...

Extended tongue's do tow easier, less likely to walk around. They are also easier to back, assuming you have plenty of room. His pull vehicle is a '95 GMC half ton with a 350. It's plenty capable. Dunno what the Toyota weighs, it's just your normal, everyday 4x4 yoter

If there is a different way to lower the front, I would highly recommend it. If you can get spindles or coils, thats the way to go. Turning down the torsion bars is better than hacking or heating your stock coils though. I didnt know mechanic's delivered parts according to this site , the total number of 3000gt's sold was 79,536. Total number of Stealth's was 63,296, for a combined total of 142,832 3s cars sold in the US. Unfortuanately, I could not find the sales numbers for all the DSM's, but it wouldn't surprise me if there are over 100,000 turbo AWD DSM's that were sold in the US, plus the other variations. IMO, a 10 to 1 ratio of DSM's in the shop to 3000gt's in the shop sounds dead on for their reliability. But then again, you are comparing DSM's only to 3000GT's. If you were to add Stealths into the equation of 10 to 1, then that would be 10 DSM's to 2 3s cars, which equal's a 5 to 1 ratio. That sounds a little more realistic to me.
