  1. do they have an address? I think i may be needing an alignment
  2. Desperado - no, it started back up just fine. Dave - thanks, i'll check it out. Evan - If I can't figure it out, i'll get ahold of you.

  4. Dave - is the flasher you are referring to, the relay in the fuse box?
  5. A girl I know is having a few intermittent problems with her Wrangler, and I'm looking for some answers. I talked to a friend of mine about them, and I'm wanting confermation before doing anything. It's a '99 Wrangler 4.0 FI, ~80,000 miles Last night, we met up on Rome-Hilliard Rd. When we left, she stopped by a bank to cash her paycheck. She parked out front and put on her four-way flashers. They did nothing. I followed her back home, noticing that although her taillights were on along with the headlights, the brake lights weren't coming on and the turn signals weren't working. We had a stop along the way and I informed her of that, so we ended up leaving it sit in a parking lot a few blocks from her house (there was a cop sitting around, we had just picked up a bottle of liquor, and she had already been drinking). So this morning, we wake up and go fetch the jeep. Dead battary. Hook up the jumper cables, let it get a charge, and realize the four-ways are now working. Along with all the other lights. BUT, now it won't idle, she has to keep gassing it for it to stay alive. My fried tells me that the Throttle Position Sensor is to blame for it not staying running, and that the fuse boxes are very tempermental, due to overheating, so there is nothing that can be done about the lights. Any second opinions?

    wheel/tire

    does this help? http://michael.faigley.homeip.net/pics/retardwheels.bmp
  7. that happened to my stepbrothers old car, loose torque convertor. If that's what the DSM guys are all saying, that's what it most likely is, and it should be an easy fix.

why do you want such wide tires?
  9. Are there any other mods done to the car? If not, I doubt you will see any difference. It doesn't matter how capable the intake is at allowing air to flow, if the engine isn't trying to suck it in, it won't make a difference.
  10. All that Google was able to come up with is a Cunningham C4-R Google search for C4-R
  11. Why make a show car out of a grand am? There was a guy around here that thought his grand am was a show car...he ended up eating the ass end of a U-Haul. It was one hell of an improvement!
  12. why even mess with a grand am when you've got a C4-R?
  13. don't EVAR put that fuse back in. learn how your car behaves without it, and quickly. You'll appreciate it so much more.
  14. I'm sure that you could get the chip burned, but as an easy, temporary solution, just pull the e-brake up one click. It's enough to kill the lights, but it shouldnt be enough to actually engage. I've HEARD that on some GM's, you can hit the dome override button several times to kill the daytime lights, but it seems to not work on every vehicle, i.e., it works on a friend's 2000 sonoma, but not on Anthony's blazer
  15. I NEVER get pop ups. Maybe it's because I run Kazaa LITE on the rare occasion that i feel like downloading music, and I use Mozilla instead of IE. I've never had to run any kind of pop up or spyware killer, either.
  16. it would be ideal to be able to lift it from the top and hang it from something, so you could slide the frame out. Is your garage cleaned out? Hanging the body from the rafters would be kick ass.
  17. gastank - is it connected completely to the body? will it be in your way? you may want to drop it before going through with this.
  18. get a plasma cutter and remove the shit you want taken out first.
  19. rockford electronics > audiobahn electronics and a 400 watt amp for that price definately isn't bad. About the only power problem you will ever notice would be the headlights dimming when the bass hits. No big deal.
  20. The 3 speed is a decent transmission, assuming you don't powershift. A friend of mine went through at least ten of them in his truck in about a 4 year span, each one breaking on a powershift (he did it a lot). He was able to pick then up extremely cheap though, no one seems to want a manual tranny with only 3 gears. It got to the point where he was able to rebuild them with spare parts from the other ones. He had a somewhat built up 305 in it, he was guessing it was around 300 horse. Your truck being a fullsize, I would assume that you shouldn't have to modify anything to drop in a SBC, but I could always be wrong. I didn't even realize that they put the two-piece driveshaft into those trucks. If you could find a single piece that would fit your long-bed for cheap, I would suggest jumping on it. I priced a rebuild kit for a 4.3 a while back, I think I was looking at a Summit catalog at the time. $250 for the hypeructectic (sp?) kit. A new carb and manifold would really help out that 4.3 you have, if you decide to keep it. It would keep it running better, longer, and would also open it up a good bit, which is never a downside when you a trying to push that big truck with only a V6. I'm going to Marietta sometime today, so I can look around for whatever you want me to. PM me with a list of whatever parts you want me to look for, and your phone number if you would like me to help you out this week, as I'll be down there until sunday.
  21. hehe, yeah, we've seen the car. Fowler also mentioned the price.
  22. Vince, wouldn't he be able to use the original tranny? A 4.3 and a 350 share motor mounts and bellhousings, correct? I don't believe that Clay is trying to get a whole lot of power out of it, he's using it primarily to haul stuff, so I wouldn't be too worried about killing that 3 speed.
  23. Why would the frame need notched?
  24. the engine in his truck now is carbed, so no need for one with a computer. If the engine is hosed, a 350 is easy enough to find, and just as easy to drop in.
