If not then they need to earn another 10,000 before the end of the year to get the companion pass. This allows someone to travel with them for free in coach, its good for the remainder of the year that they earn the points and the following year. At this point I think that if Mitt gets elected he won't be a two term president, unless the Democrats provide someone as bad or worse than Joe Biden. If they come up with another Clinton or 2008 Obama then Mitt probably won't survive because in 2016 we will either be only slightly better than we are now, or worse, but we still won't be in good shape. There's been too much foot dragging already. Capitalism can work if its left alone. Our version has been so screwed with that it can't work.

Sorry, I wasn't paying attention I don't ever recall a politician going as far as the guy who will be henceforth referred to as Barry in their promise making. Generally, politicians give a broad example of what they want to do, and leave the nuts and bolts of the plan to their advisers to come up with the best plan of action with the most input possible. Barry thinks so highly of himself that he just threw out there what HE wanted to do with everything, which is why now people are screaming about broken promises. The things he promised simply weren't feasible and he refused to acknowledge that until after he was elected and found out the hard way that some things couldn't be done. Like closing Gitmo, remember that one? Some of the promises he couldn't escape so he went full steam ahead, like pulling out of Iraq, yet he still won't have us out of Afghanistan for another 2 years - a full 6 years after his election. The exception to this was Obamacare - he wanted that so bad (so he could shit all over Hillary) that he was willing to let the lobbyists throw it together for him to present to Congress, and had Pelosi tell everyone they wouldn't know what was in it until they passed it. By the way, lobbyists write legislation and pass it off to Senators and Congressmen all the time to push into law, this is common practice, just not usually on such a large scale. So yes, it is nice to have the numbers and hard facts in front of you but the truth is that those take time and manpower to make right, which Team Mittens doesn't have yet. The other thing I see about Romney is probably both his biggest strength and biggest weakness, and that is exactly what he did at Bain Capital. He was in the position of making the tough choices to keep the companies from sinking, and sometimes when the ship is sinking you have to sacrifice some sailors to plug the holes. It wouldn't surprise me that if we want to fix this country, we may end up having to deal with a much sharper downturn for a short time, but then once things are straightened out and on the right path we will see a strong recovery. If this doesn't happen soon we may never recover. Barry will be in a position to do this if he gets reelected, since he won't have to worry about a reelection, but I'm not sure he cares enough to actually go through with it since he really seems to enjoy living the rockstar life with his good friend Jay-Z. Mittens would be stuck in the position of either waiting until reelection before going through the painful correction, which would mean another 4 years of 8% unemployment, or come in swinging and probably ruin his chances of reelection. The biggest upside to a Romney win is that it would make the next election a great time to push the Libertarian party. I try to vote for them on local stuff, but generally I look at the federal elections as being too important. Since I'm not a big fan of Romney in the first place (and I'm willing to bet a lot of people that will vote for him feel the same way) then the next election I probably wouldn't care all too much if he loses. That makes it a great time to support a third party and hopefully get them enough votes to get federal election funding for the next try. We really do need more choices.

Gotta be Hilton and gotta be a cheap flight since right now I have zero airline miles. I'm looking at either Sandestin, FL, Siesta Key (Sarasota) FL, or Nassau, Bahamas. It's looking like I waited too long to do the spend on my Citi Hilton cards (I did the 50,000 point/6 month/$1500 unpublished deal) and even though I'm within the claimed 6 month timeframe my points aren't posting, and since it was an unpublished deal I can't really call and bitch. Right now I've got 59,000 points and I'll need 145,000 for a 4 day AXON award. I think I'll shoot for the AMEX Hilton Surpass for another 60,000 and gold, then probably one of the Hawaiian Airlines or Virgin Airlines cards to do a transfer. Dunno what I'll do for airfare. I could get a 50,000 Southwest card to cover flying to Northwest FL airport to go to Sandestin, or Airtran is dirt cheap to pay to go to Nassau or Sarasota.

They usually estimate every other month or two months in a row then actually show up and check your meter to see how much to actually charge you. They fucked mine up real bad at one point, for two or three months in a row. They were charging me $400 a month a couple months in a row, which was WAY more than it should have been. So then they credited my account ahead for a bit, but it still really hurt because if I didn't pay their totally wrong estimate, then I was making late payments and could have been shut off. So after calling and bitching, I changed mine to a budget so there are no surprises. So no, budget and estimate are two totally different things.
