  1. I don't know if they've filled all the positions they were hiring for yet or not but at my job they started hiring part time team members. Hours are either 1pm to 5pm, or 1am to 5am, Mon-Fri. Company is Advics Manufacturing Oh, in Lebanon. 513-932-7878, you can ask for someone in HR to see if they are still hiring or not. But if your schedule is limited, it may not do you any good. Hope you find something though.

  2. Let me know if you get desperate. I would be interested in another snake, but it would have to be shipped up to Cleveland (no terrarium or heating pad necessary).

I'm starting to. If he's not gone by August 30th I will be freaking desperate.

    EDIT:...

DUHH I have some videos! Check these out:

    Drinking water: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gydr4UMNrOY

    Shedding: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lvnSFSBAXCs

Eye movement (you gotta look really close at about second mark 23-24) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V_ep-GCW4gk

And the last one was taken about two weeks ago. Just getting him out and holding him. He doesn't ball up very much, as they are named for.

  3. (sorry for double post)

I want to share a few pics of the new battery and see what you guys think.

So the new battery is not the exact same model as the old. Same size, Positive and Negative on same side but the drain is on different side.

This is what it looks like when I route the drain with the new battery in place, do you think it will be ok? And if it will be ok, which way would you route the drain?

In the first version I've routed it towards the front. In the second I've routed it towards the back.

  4. wow ok so the girl seems to have given me good advice with this. I haven't tried installing it yet I will in a day or two when I have time again. With my schedule I don't get much done on the days that I have to work.

I have to put the fluids in this battery myself so I'll hold off on that too until I see how it works out with the drain on the left instead of the right. Thanks for the input everyone!

  5. I need to replace my battery and walked out of Advance Autoparts with a battery that the girl picked out for me, my bike is old and nearly everything for it needs to be ordered because of that... so the specific model number for my battery is not most places you'd go to buy a battery.

It looks identical, the positive and negative are on the same side as my old one the only difference I see is the drain is on the left in the new one, my old one has it on the right.

Posting some pics, can anyone tell me if it's ok for me to use this new battery? Is there any specific info I need to verify like power output, or cold crank, or anything I can't think of? thanks!

  6. Lol understandable! I've taken my snake out to the park before to let him slither in the grass and get some sun and some people seem down right offended. Others curious. Others scared to death. Others, want to hold him and take pictures.

I like the table terrarium idea cause you can put a table cloth over it and no one would no the difference if they've never been over before.

  7. ah ok. I think I get everything, except the last bit about the axle nut and deflection since I can't see what your referring to and I'm not familiar with what all the parts are called, I don't know what's what just from reading this.

The other thing I'm ignorant about is the purpose for certain amount of slack in the chain, like the guy in the vid said some people may want a little more, some a little less. How can you tell when your riding if it's snug or loose, does it change how your bike handles on the road?

  8. Thanks for the advice but I don't think there's any way I'll be able to keep him because of potential changes in September. Can't take him with me. I have the lid covered with contact paper except for the spot where the light is to help keep moisture. I stay on top of spraying him with water a couple of times a week and haven't had a bad shed since. If I had the money and the space, never mind the ability to keep him I'd go for a better set up for sure.

I've flipped through reptile mags at the store in the past and seen some really cool things in there for snakes and other reptiles. one idea I really like is a coffee table that doubles over as a terrarium.

  9. Ah ok makes sense. The other thing in the video I didn't understand was the alignment thing. I get what the laser function did. I did not see how he actually did the alignment all I saw him do was put the laser tool in place.

  10. A visual learner I am, thanks! I am watching it now at about 4:40 he says something like "once you use your ...something.. adjustment"... I can't tell what he says, or even what the thing is your supposed to look at for that. I also have the impression he's saying that when this happens it's not only time to adjust but to change the chain outright?

  11. Sorry had a lot to catch up on, this might be a big post.

Does your bike have a center stand?

It does have a center stand. In fact I'm pretty certain now that's what I hear the chain rubbing on when it happens. I've tried in the past to get the bike up on the center stand by myself and couldn't do it. Actually since it's been so long I'll try again next time I'm out there.

I also do have a manual. Got it off Ebay back when I got the bike. I'd love to be able to use it on my own and do my own work and maintenance but I've never been able to get into it by myself. I need someone with me who knows what they are doing, at least until I know I can do it right by myself. The book can't help me like a person can. It just gives me the info, measurements, specifications etc...

Where are you located in Cinti?

I live in Lebanon. That bike shop someone recommended, down by Cincy is a bit too far for me.

Ask Brandon to show you how to do it. Chances are you need a new one' date=' though. [/quote']

Hey Brandon, can you show me how to fix ma bike chain?

Just because it's easy, doesn't mean she wants to or has the knowledge/tools to do it. An improperly adjusted chain can lead to catastrophic failure and injury/death so it's not something to take lightly. She's doing the right thing by asking for assistance.

    :plus1:

Notice how the OP seems to have dropped out of the thread...

I just don't get on here every day and actually didn't expect to get any offers of help in response. I am pleasantly surprised some people have given helpful advice.

Long time no ride!! Hit me up, I might be able to swing by this weekend and lend a hand if need be

    -VanDy

This is my weekend off. (I work 12 hr shift). If your serious, message me and we'll go from there. Yes long time no see. That first ride back in 08 was still the best I've been on. Even if I was too embarrassed about helmet head to fully enjoy the breaks we took by taking off my helmet. (I remember those pics. I have a couple others, I want to post them but I'm having trouble getting the img tag thing to work)

On a final note... My desire is to sell this bike. I'm really bummed out because I think the battery might need replacing too and it's not that old. But for now, I at least hope to get something done about the chain.

  12. I need to find a new home for my python. It's full grown at around 55 inches, I believe it's a male. It's non aggressive, healthy, and is 8 years old. They live between 20 and 30 years. I'm hoping to relocate him with someone who knows a thing or two about snakes and will take good care of him.

Diet is medium rats, about the size of a baseball, once every two to three weeks, sometimes less. I feed frozen from the pet store, they have to be properly thawed/warmed then offered to the snake.

Below is a link to my craigslist posting there are some pictures there.

  13. I think my chain needs some TLC... possibly tightened or some kind of adjustment. I don't know anything about doing this myself and I don't have the tools. If anyone is comfortable messing with chains or would be willing to look at it and tell me what they think, I'd appreciate it.

When I'm riding and I let off the throttle and start to slow down or down shift I can hear it as though its rubbing on something like it's loose, or catching somewhere. I really am not sure. It hasn't done this in the past but I haven't done anything to it either so if this is something that needs routine adjustment, it hasn't had it.

Thanks for help whoever you are.

  14. I have a medium woman's Scorpion brand Black Dahlia jacket for sale. It's like new, barely used and clean. I don't think they make this style anymore, I could be wrong. They go for around $200 new, I think I paid about that much after tax. I've seen them closer to $100 on Ebay and other websites.

I am willing to arrange for you to try it on if you want before buying.

I might be willing to ship if you don't live close by.

    I'm asking $75.

I'm going to have other items in the near future for sale. Watch for a general for sale thread from me in a week or two.

Edit: lets try this picture thing again.....

  15. Thought I'd post here rather than start a new thread. I'm thinking of riding around N KY this evening but wondered if there were any good routes a little shorter than 10/22? If I'm riding solo I'd feel better not being on such a long route by myself but I would like a nice ride.

OR if anyone has any good suggestions closer to Lebanon OH area. I'll check back in an hour or two if anyone has any suggestions. Thanks.

  16. more moderation on this site cause some of the things people say on here is just fucking ghastly to read. spooky, even. creepy, for sure.

    +1 and then some....

My usage of this site dropped 99% because of some of the language, smut, and just plain nonsense on here. I know this has more to do with individuals than site improvement (and I'm not judging those of you into it, if you are that's great for you I'm not saying you shouldn't be able to be yourself. this is a public place and all)....

but I might be more active on here if there was a way for me to somehow sensor some of the stuff I don't want to see. I don't want to turn off icons entirely just because there's some users with ones that really gross me out or are just too obscene for my taste, but it would be nice if there was a way for users to flag their icons (and/or certain posts & threads) as mature or something, now something like that IN CONJUNCTION with a user CP option to censor anything that has been flagged as mature or obscene, I could probably browse this site a lot more without being slapped in the face left and right with smut and fowl language.

Sorry riders, but I enjoy riding and that's the only reason I want to use a site like this. There's just a lot of other stuff on here that I could really do without and I wish I could filter that out. If I'm actually very much alone in my thoughts on this, then nothing changes - in site functionality or in my usage habits.

  17. hey does anyone know if these can be machine washed? If not, what do you recommend for random liquid/dirt stains after sitting in the garage for the winter? (I dunno how it happened it was at my parent's garage).

I don't see a tag or anything on mine and I no longer have the box so I dunno.

  18. I know this is the worst time of the season to try to sell a bike but I moved recently and don't have access to a garage to keep it in this winter. I've been planning to sell it for a while, just haven't got around to it yet.

bike isn't that shiney and clean now I'm sorry to say, but I haven't had time to try and clean it up. Rides good, starts up every time. Battery was replaced a few months ago, major oil leaks were fixed, rear tire is new, new brake pads as well.

Original rear tire is still good, and that will go with the bike as well as a bike cover.

I went down once when riding which resulted in a broken speedometer which was replaced with a used one. The new speedometer reads 4668 miles more than the original. Actual mileage is around 13,000, I can get you the exact mileage probably Saturday at the soonest.

    I'm asking $1,800 right now.
