I took apart four old hard drives I had laying around that crashed years ago, I got the disks out of them but what is the best way to destroy the disks so I can throw them out and be sure nothing could ever be recovered off of them??

Sounds like maybe your back wheel lost traction from some debris/gravel or simply to much lean angle

What kind of responses were you expecting from a group of people that for the most part are ATGATT (all the gear all the time) Ultimately gear is your choice. But never expect sympathy from this bunch if you chose to not gear up.

+1 for the MSF course! Did the parking lot thing too, I took my wife out to a parking lot every chance we had. You can buy cones at Lowes/HomeDepot or even Walmart in the sporting good section by the skateboards and stuff. Set them up in a parking lot and practice different sceneros.

I use this technique almost everytime I ride. It's something the instructor mentioned in my MSF course. People have a hard enough time seeing bikes, by weaving or moving in a way that is not normal when approaching them the movement will usually snap them out of any day dreaming trance they are in. I try to do a little wiggle weave whenever I come up to a intersection or side street where cars are present that may pull out.

I'm not a huge fan of wind and won't go out if its really windy. Im ok with moderate wind. I've rode in strong wind before, and while you do have to lean into it, be prepared for sudden changes such as the wind stopping. Cause if you're leaned into it and it stops, well now you've just suddenly changed lanes

Security service tech would be doing 90% commercial security/access/cctv work and occasionally help with Fire service. Fire service tech would be just the opposite, 90% fire service work with the occasional nurse call, timeclock, security/access work. Ohio Fire License is/would be required; they will hire without but you would need to get your Ohio license within 90days. My wifes Suzuki TU250 was like a Rebel but with fuel injection. Nice bike, got lots of looks at bike nites as it looks like a vintage bike. Good beginner bike, low seat and all just doesn't have much get-up-n-go.
