Thanks all, this is a lot of the ?s I have and have been asking. Right now, it's like super entry level and basically I want to use them to get more background, courses, certs, etc. Along with making more than I do now. The paid OT Thing is a must if I am going to be working it, or else the salary increase wouldn't be worth it when we can have paid OT if it's there currently. Plan as of now is to add me to the wife benefits and take the higher salary so no PTO. But like mentioned above I want to know if that means no Christmas pay, 4th, pay, NY pay, etc. Because I can handle the 4 weeks vaca loss and just cancel that with my hourly increase, BUT add in another 7 days and 7 sick days and that is kinda not the advance in pay I want. So we'll see about that. Now here's another question, I have 2 firms coming at me hard. 1 said I should be interviewing this week, the 2nd has submitted me to 2 positions to try to get interviews for me as well but we haven't talked numbers except what the lowest I would take is. With that said, the 1st option gave me a figure that I could accept, does that give me true bargaining with the 2nd firm now? Or will they just say screw it we'll get someone else? Thanks all!

Long story short, my job is stale. Real stale. And they decided to put a block on us again for all internal positions because we have lost over 50% of our team in the last year to outside and internal transfers so I am basically stuck where I am with no chance to advance. Not to mention I was told yesterday when my current full time gig is over I will be put back on the floor in my old spot, not happening. So with that said I am considering going to work for a full time W2 consulting company. I pretty much am opting for the non PTO, higher salary without benefits as my wife can carry me if I want and I can still be W2'd. I would most likely be working for fortune 500 companies only and only executive level accounts as they don't deal with anything small. It's a full time position and the raise would gross 10K but net about 6K after benefits and using some income to pay for vaca/sick etc. Can people give me any info? The companies are all based out of Cbus, I know I may be on the far side, or whatever, but more looking for the what ifs kinda thing. 6 months to perm are 75% of the jobs, and if they don't go perm they usually turn into long term contracts taking it up to 95% staying longer than 18 months. I feel like it would be great for me to get my feet wet and learn more about the IT world. Thanks

I actually told my wife yesterday that today we would be sitting down and going over plans for the upcoming events, not just this, but holidays etc. and all that ties into this. Mainly regarding plans surrounding our home, travels with our son, shopping etc. We will be discussing who will be handling what firearms on person, which person, when, where they will be in the home, etc. Yeah we're in OH, but still, just another reason to review all of this. Also, this isn't meant to be racist at all, but I have a serious question. Are individuals who are not white in Ferguson area also concerned? Speaking of ones who are not rioting, looting, etc. I know there are white people also joining the masses, are those people worried? I mean basically if you are not rioting, looting, and partaking in illegal activity are they all worried?

For sure, if I was within several hundred miles I probably would consider all that, and stocking up on ammo/supplies.

Wow, awesome point! Ours is a 50gal so that's a ton of h20. Man good looking out for real. I planned on picking up supplies this weekend though and 2 cases of bottled water was on it. Figure every year we will replace it and just use what we bought so it never gets stale. Spam, canned beans, water, canned chili, canned veggies, are all going to be my main staples. Figure it's all stuff we can eat without heating it if it's an absolute must. Again, not prepping for "SHTF" long term but more a few weeks of an ice storm or something of that sort.

Dude how funny is it I just started a small list to last about 2 weeks to put into the crawl space and SPAM was 100% on the list too! As for the genny, I always keep a spare 5 gal can of fuel in the storage thing outside and then the 4.5gals in the genny is full, and wifes car is always over 1/4 tank or another 4 gals. Or I will happily steal from all the cars left outside that are gas. Hope no one tries to take my fuel from my truck though, diesel doesn't like spark plugs and carbs..... Im not doing shelves but going to use the tupperwares we have left from our move. Instead of cardboard we bought plastic containers the size of a good moving box so we could reuse them.

I just dont believe I would actively carry a gun with a backstrap safety, due to possibly being in a position where I may not have full control and need the gun to fire. That's why my 1911 is simply a safe gun just to own and shoot with here and there. Granted it's loaded with HP's and ready to go it would still be one of my last guns to choose from. As for the shield and other guns with a manual safety, I agree, I hate it. If it was my choice I wouldn't own a shield with one, but they didn't have them at the time I bought it. Granted that will change after the holidays and I get one without it and sell mine or move it to another safe in the house.

All I know is, it's about to be a sh*t show if officer wilson is not charged. I just hope not too many innocents are hurt by the losers rioting and doing whatever thugs of both skin colors do during this time.

Good glad it works for ya. Just making an observation of my feelings on it, not every gun is for everyone that's for sure. Back strap safety? No, those shouldn't even be allowed on guns, especially not ones you trust your life to. But that's just my feelings.

So no ergonomic changes to make it any more comfortable as compare to the LCP which isn't a comfy gun, but a true pocket pistol. I'll stick with my shield and/or pickup another or a bodyguard to compliment the LCP and Shield.

So, just watched a quick vid on another training instructor doing a retreating shoot scenario, from close up about 2-3 feet, retreating to a safe distance/cover, then retreating to vehicle and using it as cover as well. The gist of the story was that he believes that carrying the muzzle pointed up in this scenario between retreats(first series of shots after the first break away shot was fired were all done retreating) was a safer option when trying to run away to cover. So it went like this, assailant ties you up, fire off a break away series of rounds, fire 2-3 rounds while more retreating is done, turn point muzzle up while running to retreat, find cover, fire rounds, point muzzle up and run to vehicle, empty mag into assailant and reload before trying to enter vehicle and leave. Thoughts?

How do you like the LC9S? Just curious if the difference is enough to like that gun because the LC9 was probably the most uncomfortable gun I have ever handled, especially for not being a true pocket gun.

Exactly, I was the guy who asked about the sights because I had never thought about it or tried to just aim center mass, always more target shooting. Brian's answer was just what I was looking for and he said if you need to use them at 10 feet to hit center mass do, it would however be best not to. I was 100% able to see them but still be focusing on the actual target not the sights if that makes sense. It was crazy because I was still hitting center mass but not actually "lining up" just using the sight silhouette in my view of the target. Dunno, hard to explain but it worked.
