That's why all the hyper-milers use them, I'd guess. Must more comfortable when you're in the "I surrender" position. And the handling? So awesome...nothing better for taming those road-carving cast iron stoves than exaggerated controls! Even if they were mega comfortable made any sense, they still look goofy as fuck. Try as I might, I can't summon the desire to look like a mexican pimp or the 5th member of Poison when I ride. I tried my retarded brother's douchetastic hangers on his Harley. I was not impressed. Maybe they interfered with my gear. Should have tried them with wifebeater and flip flops. This is the only cool trike, in the history of ever.

I wasn't aware I was supposed to stop riding in the winter. Who knew?

Ape hangers, therefore your facts are invalid.

Can't be stressed enough. Good gear (meaning, not cheap) is more comfortable than street clothes, isn't hot or burdensome, and actually does something when shit goes sideways. I don't want to look like a power ranger either, but I've sat through a road-rash scrubbing in the ER, and also paid the bill for that. Looks rank very fucking low nowadays.

I pretty much hate everything about that. No, wait, I don't hate the license plate frame.

If I'm free, I'd love to come.

Taking stock of my 1st year riding - the accidents.

Dirt is a great teacher - not for everything you need on the street, but it does some very very important things for you, and quite quickly - the first of which is removing your tendency to target-fixate. On the trails, it's something you'll break as a habit very quickly because if you look at the stuff you're trying to avoid, you'll be hitting trees and rocks all day long. The eye will start to learn to look where you want to be, not where you don't, and that's a live-saver when things go badly. The other thing, the intangible that is seldom talked about but hyper-important to street riders and dirt riders know instinctively, is how to ride and save the bike on limited or no traction, and most importantly how to crash. Yes, that's a skill, and there is an art to coming off the bike smoothly and without going tense and fighting the crash. And, it teaches you how to get to the edge of that traction without freaking out. All invaluable for an experienced rider. I tell every new rider to spend a few months on a dirt bike before getting on the street, it's a forgiving place to learn and fun as hell. It's in fact, quite frustrating, that people don't take advantage of it more often because there's it's such a fun way to get your skill built up. -
My avatar is getting slow, losing his hearing, going grey - I know I don't have that long with him, but he's still happy and still family. It's breaking my heart a bit already, gonna make me a wreck when I have to let him go. I think a dog has a sly way of making us bigger messes than a human, because they're not aware of their condition, or their pain and just soldier on...and an owner feels their plight for them. It's cruel, but I guess that's the trade we make for years of companionship.

If you can't swing the up front of Geothermal (which is considerable), go for a high efficiency 2-stage propane furnace & high efficiency (variable speed condenser) heat pump. With that system it will mean that only 2 of the coldest months will be hard on the propane bills, and the high efficiency furnace (if properly sized to your home) will only work at maximum output at the very coldest of days and likewise during all but the hottest days the HP will be doing light duty. This is what I have in my house, and I only go through 200 gallons of propane a year...rest of the time it's electric. The good heat pumps are good down to 25 degrees. If you go propane, look into the bulk services that let you buy a large quantity up front then deliver it as you need it - the cheapest way to buy and lock in your rate. If you have access to wood, an outdoor boiler would be ideal for multiple buildings and none of the hassle that woodburners bring. I am a partner in an HVAC company, be happy to give you a quote if you start shopping around (and there's lots of good advice and options out there).

Glad to hear you got it resolved, there are some just plain bad service guys in our industry...not always criminal, just fucking half-assed parts swappers who don't know what they're doing. FWIW, if you ever do get a new system (or for anyone else) whoever puts it in should do a proper Manual-J (measurement of your house, efficiency & load) or they shouldn't be trusted to put in a battery in your t-stat. Proper sizing makes or breaks the system, and too many shitwits guess or over-do it and that's terrible for the equipment).

Selling a nice condition Harley brand rain suit. My brother bought this for a road trip we did last year but isn't riding anymore so I thought I'd move it for him. It was $190 at Farrows, and it's built superb, kept him bone dry on the trip and has stirrups & suspenders, reflective patches and piping, quality zippers and snaps. Way nicer than the crap I had for the trip, I know that lol. He's about my size, 5'10" and 190 and it fit him perfect. $35, I work in Cols., live nearby. IM or email me if you're interested.

Won't matter one bit. Unless you're doing a 10 mile downhill riding the fuck out of the brakes the whole way, you'll never notice a difference.

Well, you didn't seem to grasp a single thing I said, so I guess congrats. You're as fucking stupid as the last time I talked to you.

Reagan signed it, but he's no more responsible for its origins than Clinton is for welfare reforms. Wasn't his idea. That said, if you agree with the Lifeline program, does that make Reagan a great guy for it's origins? So then Bush is even better for having continued it? Or, is it a shitty idea? Then that would make Obama a bad president for ramping up a conservative turd. Please, contort your opinions to fit your bias. The original idea of the Lifeline program was to give LANDLINE service to people whom private phone companies could not or would not extend service to, either because of the inability to bring profitable phone lines to them, or they lacked the funds to pay for it. It was more feel-good social engineering (and thus a bad idea), and here's why... Every successive president built on it until it became a money-sucking boondoggle handing out free shit to people at the cost of others who pay for what they have. Then, and rightly so, Obama gets the blame for making it rain cell phones to any swinging dick who wants one. Perfect example of bad government, and why polyanna programs should not be the function of the Federal government...because good intentions are not good policy, and bad policy gets turned into wasteful bullshit. Because, frankly, people like you empower turds like Obama to do it.

Last year I was training to do a race, something I've never done. At my best I was doing three 6-mile laps of Alum in just a touch over 2 hours, which for the sled I ride and my physical shape was pretty fast....then I wrecked hard on a really easy spot and bruised my kidney, had some real wicked nerve damage and it ruined me for the rest the season. It's been like that every year since I started. When I start getting comfortable and attacking the trail, I end up getting hurt and set back to where I'm starting over. Frustrating as hell, but this year I said "fuck it" and I'm just riding a comfortable pace for the exercise and enjoyment. I think I had too much ambition for someone starting so late in life, cause I can't soak up the damage and the learning curve demands it if you're going to hit the challenges.

Nothing irks me more than riding with people who not only are fast up the hills, but like it....all happy and shit when they see a big one coming. The only reason to ever ride up a hill is to enjoy going down it...you're not supposed to enjoy that huffing and shit. Weirdos.

And Magz supports gun rights, except in cases where people own, possess, or carry them.

The padded liners at Deal Extreme are the fucking bomb. Ridiculously cheap and as nice if not nicer than my Pearl Izumis that cost 4x as much. Other than taking a while to ship, they're superb. The reviews don't lie. http://dx.com/p/bicycle-riding-suit-sports-pants-underwear-with-cushion-size-l-52840?rt=1&p=6&m=1&r=4&k=1&t=1&s=&u=52840 I wear them under board shorts for mountain biking, and it's super comfy.

How do we know he's not just playing...well....you know?
-
He's communicating by writing now, apparently. So, his inability to talk isn't going to impede anything as far as an investigation. I hope they find what help or training they may have received, and where that was. But, I don't think the current administration has any interest in doing shit about it. Look at how vigorously they've pursued Nidal Hassan as a terrorist.

Around noon is the earliest I can get there. I figured P1 was still greasy in too many spots, never dries out in the spring I was gonna ride P2.
-
Anxious to hear about the Airborne too. That will be my next bike I think, I almost bought one then the LBS made me a great deal on my GT. Gonna hit Alum in tomorrow if it dries out (and it should). I need to build some offroad endurance, I've been a lazy ass this winter.

I've put 300,000 miles on my cars & bikes with nothing but T6 in them. Never an issue, no engine problems whatsoever. I run the oil a long time, too, 10k in the cars & trucks and usually 3-4k in the bike (street bike).
