I have been real happy with my Road Attacks. I think I got about 8k out of my last rear. No joke.

A friend who had a SV 1K only got something like 4K out of his PP. It's a sticky, soft compound tire and is going to wear out faster than say a sport touring type tire or a multi compound tire. I've been told the grip on the PP's is great but they don't last very long. How many miles did it take before you killed it? Is it just the center that wore out or all the way around?

The only thing I know of different between 03 and later 2nd, gen Sv is rear set position and subframe height. Both of which should have anything to do with the kick stand mounted to the frame. But I'm by no means a pro with the does and don'ts, what can and can't be done with the bike. I just pulled it out. It's either cracked or the silver paint they painted it with is cracked. I 'll take a pic in a little while. It's more in the middle of the stand and not on the weld at all.

I have a shortened kick stand that came with my Sv. I couldn't tell you how much shorter it is and it will need to be re welded. It has a crack along the weld. I'll take a picture if you want. If you want it all you have to pay is shipping and paypal charges. The stand is just sitting in a box and when the bike was lowered the handling/ turn in was horrible for me.

If I can make it I'll just meet everyone over at QSL. I go through the metro parks to get there and home.

Last night I soaked the whole thing down with PB and WD let it sit. Sprayed degreaser this morning and washed it off. Then some more WD. With the ugly ass tank off and being wet it looks like it has some potential.
