  3. if you can't find krav maga, there are probably a handful of muay thai, bjj, or mma school nearby somewhere. i guess it depends what you want to focus on. striking, or getting dirty on the ground. i've never attended any sort of mma class, so i can't comment on those.... but I believe it's a conglomeration of american boxing and muay thai with lots of bjj concepts.

  8. love it or hate it, iron pony is a great resource (for seeing parts up close and personal) for any biker. riders all over the world are insanely jealous that we have such a thing in our backyard with few exceptions.
  9. it is: STRIKE FIRST STRIKE HARD SHOW NO MERCY!!!!11!!!!1
  10. cobra kai dojo is with you everywhere you go.
  11. muscle cramps? full head of hair? oh wait, i know.... pimples.
  12. i was talking about the light bulb. you can't expect to actually ride that thing on the street without a headlight. why, what did you think i was saying?
  13. well, you can at least use the shitty helmet as a track day back up lol i'm still advocating track days as the best investment for learning good habits for riding. the only bad thing is if you get hooked, you can just say good bye to several grand a year. street riding with the right people is still really fun though.
  14. OP return that helmet where you got raped on the price, and use that money you were going to "take a shit in" and spend it on a track day. that will help you increase speed in the twistiez more than anything you could possibly glean from here or even from many street rides.
  15. it doesn't make it any less ghey, however.
  16. my zagg smartbuds with custom mold plugs are better. sorry.
  17. just an fyi if you haven't been on the wera board in a while... the classifieds section is now closed, and you have to post up for sale stuff on weraclassifieds.com i think it costs $1 for parts and $10 for bikes. ads are good for like 30 days or something. good luck with sale!
  18. i think he also gave you a free tour of the back of his 8 year old 636 at beaver, didn't he? on the straight, no less. your liter bike must have been a saaaad paaaaanda that day.
  19. read this. http://motoseries.com/trackday_info.htm
  20. pray for good weather, and with the instruction program restructuring taking place... i think the pace will be more than adequate. if you are not racing, no. STT, motoseries, and midohio PTR all have similar instructional group programs. NESBA's novice/beginner program is a bit more free-ballin', but they are perceived to have better control in other areas that other school are commonly thought to be lacking in. as was mentioned in the april thread, the squeaky wheel commonly gets the grease. that said, those of us who can, will try to be more proactive about getting you guys into appropriate groups (and rearranging groups and even bumping into intermediate if necessary). again though, i think you'll find that the instructional group will be quite a bit different when the track is dry.
  21. if you've done a few track days already, and the instructors gave you feedback saying "you're doing well" and "keep it up, you'll be ready for I group" and etc, then you can sign up for intermediate and ask for a tow for the first few sessions. i'm sure one of the open/intermediate riders familiar with nelson will be happy to give you a tow around, and if I'm free, I'll be happy to do so as well. the second biggest thing is, that you're consistent in your lines and that you are not too skittish about getting passed in the corners (or in general). the biggest thing is your comfort level, so if you're just plain not ready, just do novice. they can always bump you up to open assuming there is room.
