I have a valentine V1 that I'm happy with. escort has a 9500i or something like that last time i checked (a while ago) that has GPS capabilities, so you can teach it to ignore future false alarms or post speed traps or something like that. i had a escort 8500 previous to to the V1, and it kept getting the "service required" message post-warranty. called escort, and they said pay a bunch of money for a "fix" (refurb). My sister's bel RX65 (same unit, different names) did the exact same thing, same story from the co. I'm sure many others have similar stories, but many others are completely happy with their bel/escort units. i just went by my own experience.
