  1. Last I heard in Ohio you may not have two vehicles side by side sharing the same lane at any point. Or you may not occupy two lanes or something of the sort. There isn't a law per say directly directed towards lane splitting but there are some out there that you could easily be cited for if doing it. If I was in stopped traffic or slow traffic I would make my way to the front. It kept my conscious clear of someone rear ending me.
  2. Founders Breakfast Stout. The one this thread is about.
  3. This is my favorite beer out this season. I wait year round for it every year. If you find it on tap it's a no brainer what you need to be drinking. It's a bit on the pricey side depending on where you go. I've seen it from $10 at The Andersons to $14 at my local beer store for a 4 pack.
  4. Practice dry firing it and see if you can guess exactly when that trigger is going to pull. Odds are you won't be able to do it. Just practice a smooth trigger pull with the right grip and finger placement and keeping it consistent all the way through until you hear the click. You can't get it spot on when you're going to fire, so the next best thing is to practice holding it steady until that point. Just keep that good sight picture on your front sight and work on your stance. Muscle memory is going to be your best friend.
  5. Survival Tactics on E. Main St.
  6. Nice pair of bikes. Keep on with the Twins.
  7. Take a look around and see if you can't find a gun shop that makes holsters. I picked up an IWB for 60 dollars from a store here in Reynoldsburg. He had it made within the day and it locks the gun in real nice and firm. Has that nice little click to let you know it's in there.
  8. My wallet would stay in my back pocket and keys and other things would go in my jacket pockets. I didn't keep anything important in the bike except the insurance card.
  9. Good idea. I'd add the 1911 to the collection, just not for the sole purpose of it being your one and only carry gun.
  10. Yes. It uses a Striker system. Sniper knows the deal. The only way to make a Glock go bang is by pulling the trigger. There is no accidental discharge with a Glock. You either pull the trigger and it goes off or you don't pull the trigger and it doesn't go off. No it's not a true DA, DAO, or SA. Yes it does operate in a firing function more like a DA gun where as the only way to make it go bang is pulling the trigger.
  11. You can't practice the actual scenario of being attacked. You can, but you can't. No practice is going to compare to the scenario when your adrenaline is running. Or at least most people don't put themselves in a realistic scenario when practicing. (Adrenaline and Panic levels.) I know I don't have the right belt to carry .45, but I'm never going to be carrying a .45, I was more or less saying my pants would fall off just to say there is no need in carrying a .45 with the extra weight that comes along with it IMO. 9mm +P ammunition has more than enough power to take out an attacker. With the trigger pull aspect, do you think that's going to be a big deal in a CCW situation? All you need to be able to do is hit paper from 7ft away, which I think most people that shoot regularly could pick up a gun and hit paper from 25ft away no problem. If you're pulling your gun on someone 25ft away you better think twice about pulling that trigger.
  12. Please explain to me how a DA gun has an accidental discharge. Only way to make a DA gun go off is by pulling the trigger.
  13. Why not just carry a sub compact 9 and use the .45 as the range toy/ SHTF pistol? Only holster I'd have sitting around for a .45 is one for open carry. I don't see the point in carrying around something that big. I know it'd pull my pants off my butt. And I'm sorry, but who wants a safety on your CCW? I'm assuming if I need to pull out my gun I don't have any extra time to spare turning off my safety. I want to pull my gun out and only have to worry about pulling the trigger and that's it. You don't know what you're going to do in a high stress situation, and I'm sure most of us here haven't been put in a situation where we really needed to draw on someone, so we don't know how we'll react. It at least won't be second nature.
  14. I had the A* SMX or something of that sort. I have a more narrow foot so the Sidi would have been a better choice for me. I'm not complaining about the A* boot though. Boot liner on the inside, zipper all the way up, shoe ties on the inside. I loved them. Whatever you get make sure it feels good on your foot. Both are solid choices.
  15. I switched from Verizon to AT&T. More than happy. There is a reason AT&T sold all their towers/ OLD network to Verizon in the 80's.
  16. I'd be interested in 9mm brass ammo. Also some Winchester Ranger in 9mm as well.
  17. Reimbrandt on here is the man to talk to about airbrushing.
  18. We've seen a side by side comparison. I do agree.
  19. SV650/s is a V-Twin A lot more around since the 650r only started production in the states in 09. SV650 equals cheaper bike, cheaper parts due to more parts on the used market for that first wreck or upgrades. I started on the sv650s. I learned a lot and it didn't let me get out of control on the throttle. Very forgiving bike for a first rider. I had 14k miles on mine and wasn't looking to upgrade.
  20. I wouldn't call it for good. I just know that I won't be owning a bike til next fall at the earliest.
