  1. Looking like I'm going to make it to this.
  2. My bike is owned by the bank right now.
  3. My buddy will be bringing his 86 interceptor if I'm road worthy, which it's looking as if I will be.
  4. I've got the install and everything taken care of. Tire is in the mail, I just need to see if I can find the free time in my schedule to go get it swapped before the ride. Sat is my only day off this week and I doubt I can get a tire changed and meet you all up by 830am on the same day.
  5. I might be tagging along for this one if I can get my front tire changed before then.
  6. BRC test is off set. The DMV test is not off set.
  7. 374 Has some loose gravel laying around on 1/3 of the turns where they just put down some new asphalt. Big Pine is fine but still some loose gravel here and there as well. Definitely a good route. 56 is a blast. 664 to 374 to 56 and around is always fun.
  8. I went and bought a pair of Senheiser in ear head phones and strapped my ipod to my arm which has a volume control on it. I can't hear much with ear plugs in, now I just get some tunes to listen to at the same time.
  9. For sale I have two pairs of A* gloves. First up for sale: BNIB Black Alpinestars SPX Gloves $70.00 These go for 100 retail plus tax. Size Large Next is a pair of GP Pro gloves blue and white. I went down in these so there is minor damage. Size Medium $120 OBO. When I say obo I mean obo. Offer away. I'm going to go snap pictures here real soon.
  10. I'll try and get to Iron Pony this week to try on the boots. Definitely interested if they're still around by the end of the week.
  11. Welcome, I'm close to Pataskala as well.
  12. My A* is a 1.2-1.4mm and it held up just fine when I went down. You really wouldn't even know by looking at it I slid on my stomach the entire time. I wouldn't have any concerns.
  13. If you don't have any leathers at all right now I'd just buy a 1 piece suit and then another leather jacket for commuting. I'm torn between buying leather pants right now and buying 1 piece.
  14. Regardless of the route I should be there assuming my new job allows me to have the day off, which I told them about in the interview process.
  15. I have perforated leather jacket. When you're moving it's not bad at all, when you're stopped it still sucks but it's a million times better than asphalt where skin used to be.
  16. I have no intentions of starting an argument. I like keeping the leaders in sight to see how you all set up turns and the like while also staying in limits that I can correct (most of the time lol). I know I couldn't hang with you front 4 but I could have stayed a little closer in the turns. I wont take any comments made personally, they are all said for a reason and can help me become better and that's what I'm all about. EDIT: And as far as riding above my head, or thinking I'm better than I was I wont deny to an extent which is also another reason I'm glad I went down when I did. Had I not gone down I'd be pushing it harder the next time. After eating the ground I think taking a spill is one of the best learning experiences you can get as a rider.
  17. Swingset, I don't want to blame the gravel for taking me down, but had it not been there I would have been able to handle the turns no problem at all. A factor came into play that I was not expecting. I haven't seen gravel through an entire turn like that before ever and the fact that I set up my line on it perfect was terrible luck. We had run into some gravel spots in turns before that, but nothing near like the one I went down on. There were patches here and there but nothing terrible. I do know the wreck was my fault and I don't want to sound like I'm denying that by any means.
  18. Just an FYI Todd I wasn't really pushing my abilities on the CSBA. I could have been a lot closer up behind you front 4 but I kept it mild just as everyone else on the ride was. As far as being fresh out of the MSF course, both instructors said there was no need for me to even be in the class in the first place and I should have jumped up to BRC2 or the one above. They used me as an example the entire weekend. I'm not trying to say I'm not a noob, because there are things that I haven't experienced while riding, like heavy gravel through an entire turn for instance. If I knew how to handle that situation things would have been a lot different, but crossing the double yellow and pursuing the turn didn't seem like the best idea to me. My only fault was riding too fast in unknown territory and it sent me down. I'm honestly glad it happened when it did and where it did. I've been wondering when and how it was going to happen and everything turned out better than expected. Only some minor damage to the bike, I know how well gear holds up first hand. I know what it's like to hit the ground and slide on pavement. I know how to fall as well now. I assessed the situation quickly and made a decision and stuck with it. I went limp before I hit the ground and didn't try and brace my fall. I know I'm not going to freak out if I'm wrecking now and it takes a lot of the what ifs out of riding for me. Lesson learned and it's only going to make me that much better in the future.
  19. If I'm road ready by the time this trip takes place I'm there.
  20. Helmet never touched the ground THANK GOODNESS! That would have been by far the most expensive fix! I'm hoping to maybe be able to sell these and get some money back. I ordered another pair of GP Pro gloves. Looks like they payed for themselves with some of the safety features they have that other gloves don't. I'm 10x more happy with the purchase after the wreck. Pics don't show it but the leather is torn down to the kevlar in a small spot. Kevlar didn't get effected. I'm going to need some new boots eventually but these should be fine for the time being. The jacket isn't even worthy of taking a picture of. You can't even tell it touched the ground.
