  1. Actually there is a new Vortex 1-6 and some of the other big boys ($$$) had some 1-8x which were really nice. They are now posted on their sites.

Thanks for the response. Some of those aren't out of my price range. Some most definitely are.

  2. Something that's double layered. Make sure that the clips or loops you're using are made to fit the size of your belt. A 1 1/4" width belt will be fine as long as your clips or loops fit it.

I just use some belt I've had for 6 years with no problems. I'll be switching it out with my Milt Sparks when it shows up though.

  3. I haven't read through the whole thread but have read the day logs. Have you gotten a chance to use a quality blender?

My girlfriend just got a Vitamix 5200 and I have been eating, well drinking plenty of fruits and veggies a day. 1 apple, 1 orange, 1 banana, 1 handful of strawberries, 1 handful of spinach, 1 handful of cale (sp?) and 8 oz of water. It tastes mostly like banana and it makes about 44oz of drink that's easy to get down in 5 minutes and tastes great.

The cores and seeds all get blended and broken up so you don't lose any vitamins and nutrients. You actually get more from an apple by blending it. I'd look into blenders and do some research and compare it to juicing after you're done with this as both have their pros and cons.

I have used an Omega Juicer before and the juice that comes out of it is great. It does take a lot of fruits and veggies to make a full glass and you lose a lot of fiber from what's left over.

  4. I don't know the answer to that. The dimensions are different between the CW9 and CW40.

I personally wouldn't expect it to fit. My K9 didn't fit and they're similar to each other in size, more so than the CW40 and CW9 I would assume.

  5. Recon, I just got rid of a bunch of load straps the other day to a friend. I wish you would have said something when you got that ammo.

Look at Tactical Tailor, SKD Tactical, Blackhawk, Eagle Industries. There are a lot of companies that have Molle and other pouches, prices vary A LOT!

  6. Man I like that, pretty good price? I haven't been there beacuse every Sunday I go past at noon sharp and its PACKED.

They have GREAT pricing on them right now. I went in Tuesday at 3 and they had more employees in the store than customers.

  7. I went and picked up a police trade in Kahr K9 the other day at OVO. Body and everything looks to be in great shape. It does have the more light of two trigger pulls, I think 7lbs. The sights are a little beat but I have some Trijicon NS on the way and this will be going out to get refinished with cerakote with a black and grey two tone. Milt Sparks Versa Max 2 Holster is getting made for it next month as well.

  8. I'm looking at getting my K9 refinished with Cerakote. Has anyone here used this before?

I'm looking at going through Performance Powdercoating as I don't trust myself to do this. I know they use Cerakote H which is baked at low temps, NOT air dry. I've heard good things about the work they do and they seem to be one of the only places around that does it.

I'm wondering if anyone has any first hand experience with it and can attest to how the final result holds up. From what I've read, if done correctly the finish will hold up very well on my EDC but I still see mixed reviews.

  9. You may be okay with a newer model gun. After doing some research I know i have an older style slide on my K9, I don't know if magazine dimensions changed at all in that time. The mag that came with my CW9 does seem to be a fraction more thin when looking at it with the naked eye and does appear to have some smoother spots than my K9 mag.

Any mag should work, some may drop more free from the firearm when empty than others is all. I doubt you'll have much issue with the newer manufactured stuff. It only seems to be an issue when using an older mag in a newer gun.

  10. You'll want reliable BUIS if it's a SHTF situation. I wouldn't want to rely on Magupl for my back ups.

When coming to an optic you have a lot that goes into your overall choice.

What is it being used for? What ranges will you be shooting it at? Does added weight to your rifle matter to you? Do you want magnification? Is this your go to rifle for a bug out situation?

With the Eotech and Aimpoint systems some people say you can shoot what you see if you have good vision. Like stated above they're good out to about 200m, maybe more if you're a good shooter.

I'm not a fan of a magnifier. It's one more piece of equipment to worry about. If you want magnification get something that is variable like the Leupold CQ/T. If that's out of price then look at the Burris MTAC. That's my opinion on it.

I haven't used a fixed magnification like a Triji before, but on my Burris at 3x magnification I feel I could use it for CQ with 2 eyes open without it bothering me much.

Overall you get what you pay for when it comes to optics. I spent 300 to put something on mine that I was okay with for the time being while I save for the optic I really want.
