  1. Being stuck with Verizon and the ridiculous content locks they put on phones, I had a tough time when upgrading my phone recently. I almost paid the fee to cancel my contract and get an iphone, but Verizon will have the iphone in 2010/11. Ican wait for now. I am also not a big apple fan. I wanted a good web browser and navigation. I looked at the blackberrys, absolutely hate the roller ball. The Storm was a good option, but I hate typing on touch screens. I went with the Env Touch. Nice little phone. Has it's faults, but waht phones don't? Some of them nay just be me getting used to it as well. Is it an iphone? No, but if had to pick again, I still think I would pick the Env. I really like the two screens, and a true qwerty keyboard and a touchscreen is awesome. Now if Verizon would unlock the phones and let some apps get made........ If you play games or want a bunch of extras, be prepared to shell out cash. I'll compare it the iphone, since that seems to be the gold standard. Obviously, the iphones apps are better. The iphone's navigation is better than Verizon's VZ navigator, but VZ gets the job done, but takesa few more steps. Web browsing is about the same, there are few pages that show funny, but they may do the same on other phones as well, not sure. OR.net works great! I like the Env's touch screen slightly better than the iphone, only because the iphone zoom works backwards than I would expect it to. That may just be becasue I am left handed, and lots of things are backwards to me. The Env, is a little jumpy on the touch screen, but once you get used to it, it's fine. The true keyboard was the real seller to me for the Env. Verizon's nationwide premium plan is unlimited text, web, navigation, etc. I think the pricing is fairly similiar to AT&T.
  2. Yeah, pretty much read the whole post except the first thread and the title with all of the info. Have fun, you guys are doing it up right, I'll be in a tent at least 5-6 of those nights. I feel bad for my back.
  3. What are the dates on this? I'm thinking of doing this trip solo 8-13 to 8-23. I don't have shit planned, that's half the fun. tent, right gear, extra fuel, water, good to go til I can't go no more. Still debating on this trip or New Orleans and then up the coast. Duh, I can't read the freaking thread title.
  4. Iron Pony will price match if you talk to the right people, or at least get close to competitors and match their web pricing. I like having IP around. We are lucky, a lot of places in the country have nothing even close to them. If you can go to a place and have access to try on the gear, why not buy from them even if it takes a bit of haggling to get the price you want? Enough people start only using them for a closet, they may be gone. I'm a touch and see person. I want to know exact what I'm getting. I know I can always find a cheaper price online, but as long as they are competitive, I will pay a small premium to see what I'm getting and pick it up. I always have good luck with customer service there as well. Their website does suck though, hopefully this new one is better. The search crashes almost every time I use it. Competition in Springfield is nice, I like how it's organized and maybe it's just me, but I thought the customer service there was real good. A cute girl helped me for a long time while I tried on helmets, can't beat that. Not real convenient to Cbus like IP is though. From what I could see, pricing was decent.
  5. I plan on going Thursday, Shauna as well. If the weather is bad, probably not though.

  6. The only thing you'll need is this:

    http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=10403893

We'll re-use your seat cover, I l already have the glue(thanks, Tyler). I am out of staples if your seat needs them, so you may pick them up. ½" inch are fine, just make sure they have the sharp ends and not the square ends.

Skip the gel unless you really, really want it, I doubt you'll need it though.

  7. Maybe something like this? http://www.jpcycles.com/Search/ProductDetail?sku=ZZ34096&N=2761610%202757029%20275074%2028004038&Ne=36365&Ntk=All&Ntt=&Ns=DefaultSort&results=10&No=
  8. I'll do a short ride(s), maybe 2-3 hours max. I don't want be gone a lot or run my bike to pieces over the next few weeks. The 14th, I'm leaving for a solo trip out west, I'll end up putting 3-4 k on my bike.

I want to keep it tip-top shape for safety. :)

I'm going to try to be a homebody for the next few weeks, spend time with the wife since I'll be gone 9 days. Thurs. we plan on going to BWR.

  9. Interesting marketing. Pretty much saying that it was a turd. I've ridden a Blast, took the MSF on one. Neat little bike for a young rider or a smaller adult. I've also seen Bubba Blackwell ride the shit out of one, wheelies, stoppies, pretty much pushed it the limits. I don't really think it will be missed much though.
  10. I don't really have plans any night this week or weekend if you want to do you seat sometime. After that, I'm pretty much busy or gone until the end of August. :)

I re-did mine yesterday after doing tbone's, I think I really have it figured out awesome now. The glue was much needed addition.

  11. Try Heflin's in Plain City. We used him for our wedding, awesome food & service, great prices. Not sure if he'll go to Charleston, though..... http://columbus.citysearch.com/profile/7832952/plain_city_oh/heflins_caterers.html
  12. Oh yeah. I don't feel like a sail on the highway, and kept the wind and bugs directly out of my face. I use an Arlen Ness fairing now, eliminates the sail effect, but I get bugs and wind in the face now. I just started wearing a face shield instead of just glasses for long rides. Tbone may have the Maier one in his possession by the meet & greet though. When I was looking for a fairing, I looked hard at the Memphis Shades shields. Very nice, and pretty good prices. I know I liked the demon and and the alley cat.
  13. Let me talk to Shauna. I know I told someone I would do something Sunday, can't remember what or who though.

  14. I've got a small Maier one that I don't use anymore you could check out, but I'm in Columbus.
  15. Does anyone know if you have to pay to go the swap meet/ vendor area? What is the grandstand area that is free? Is it just real far way seats? I'm thinking of taking a quick ride up Sunday, but I don't really want to spend the whole day and $25 seems a bit pricey for an hour or 2.
  16. I think she's jealous as well. A girl on a bike is hot, and I have never thought that just because a girl rode, that she may be a lesbian.
  17. Here's my fancy custom decal..... I had to handcut this bitch.
  18. You cannot bear the guilt of something that you did not cause or do. Birth circumstances are something that no one has ANY control over. Being born is like winning the lottery; some people win big, some people just get a free ticket and a chance to try again. What makes a king or queen? Their birth right. Do they feel guilty about it? No. I feel got lucky in the genetic lottery, I'm not going to feel guilty because I happened to be born with attributes some others may not have. You won a prize in the random draw of life; if anything, take your good fortune and help others that may have not. Be a big brother, help out an orphanage, join the peace corp. Maybe that will help you re-gain some self esteem. Most of all, seek professional help. I have struggled with depression all of my life, and you are showing serious signs of self damaging thoughts. Counseling and/or medication may benefit you more than seeking out your history. I'm sure there are support groups for other people in your situation, seek them out and get advice from them as well. Help yourself first, and then help others. I think that will help you fill the void that you are feeling.
  19. I'll try Jagr's first; his teddy bear punches will be soft if I screw it up. I think it will be fine, and then I'll seriously do a how-to for both types. It's really easy as long you have a steady hand, and pretty hard to mess up.
  20. Basically, I cut away half the seat and replaced it with memory foam. Before I did mine, I would start feeling pain or discomfort at 75-100 miles. After the mod, I rode 400 last week and never felt a twinge.
  21. More TwittOR. Glad you like it. I will seriously post the memory foam mod how-to one day for the rest of the folk. I like doing projects, but finding time to write about them is hard. I would like to try a sportbike to see how it works, if there are any takers. Will cost you about $15(as long it works ).

  23. What do you mean? re-read my post, I'm defending him, not putting him down. I hate bullies and people that make fun of anyone for something beyond their control. I always have and always will stand up for people that may not be able to do so themselves.
