  1. +1..would make me rethink taking anything to them again..very basic, yet they failed

Dude, everyone makes mistakes. I know I do at work, and when I do, I own up to them, and do whatever I can to make it right.

If something goes right, sure everyone is happy, but being correct is what is expected.

When something goes wrong and a store does everything in their power to make it right, that's good customer service.

I know in my experience, that's when you get customers to come back, because they are reliable in a pinch.

I think the OP found that out about IP.

  2. I am with ya 100%.....may I tag along with ya....and anybody else ?

You are more than welcome to go with us. I'm pretty sure I'm going up with one guy on a gixxer and another in a cage.

We will be leaving Thursday, June 11 in the morning, heading back Sunday the 14th whenever we wake up.

I'm not sure if I'm camping or getting a room yet, I'll leave it up to anyone that wants to roll together to get their own accommodations. I've been finding some decent prices on hotels, I may go that route.

  3. Wow, that surprises me about State Farm for some of you guys. I pay about $70 per month for an 04 Ranger 4x4 and my 02 Shadow Spirit, full coverage on both.

My record is 100% clean and I'm 31. That may make a difference.

I'm guessing you have tickets or accidents, I know State Farm is not very lenient with them. My wife had two very minor accidents and a speeding ticket, and her rate skyrocketed. State Farm was still cheaper than any other provider though, and she checked every one we could think of.

  4. Last night was a much better turn out than I expected! I felt like a schmuck riding up there alone and not knowing anyone but I already met a few of you. Dallas, Jesse and April were a few people I talked to and everyone else seemed cool. Plus, I ran into my sister on the patio. I will definitely be back many more times this season!

I didn't know anyone either, but all went well. It was nice to finally meet a few people, and I'm sure I'll see everyone again soon. A few more times and I'll start remembering names. :)

  5. It's mostly HD. There were 5 deaths an 15 bikes stolen last year. Trailer park really sums it up. I live 10 mins from Sandusky an that is the worst week to be out riding around here. Alot of drunk inexperienced riders. Ceder Point and other places are pushing to have it taken down to just a weekend deal. Plus this year Star Boyz Stunt fest will be held in Santown during bike week. So you'll have all the wannabe stunters causing problems to.

I was really curious to find out if the stats you provided were true since I could not find one single article on the internet about deaths during Ohio Bike Week.

I have a friend that is in the State Patrol and he put me in touch with a Sargent in the motorcycle division, and he said that is not true.

He stated the event in Sandusky is one of the safer motorcycle events statewide. While there have been accidents in the past, most are from guys leaving the event and going on back roads drunk and trying to stunt. He even specified that it is typically young, inexperienced sportbike riders that this happens too, so be careful and smart if this is the type of riding you do.

He said that accidents are rare at the actual event, and that Ohio Bike Week is just a really large, expanded version of a Bike Night at QSL. With a little vigilance, most people should be able to go and have a good time safely.

Now some other events, like the Chillicothe Rodeo, are another story. That should be avoided, with lots of gangs and overall rowdiness.

I was really surprised to hear both of the troopers talk about the amount of motorcycle gang activity in Ohio. It's hidden, but it is very much there.

I just wanted to post this to set the facts straight so this post does not deter anyone from going. I did not ask about the thefts, so I have no info about that.

  6. I would play it safe and at least call the vet and see what they say. What kind of dog?

If it's bigger, she might be okay, but if it's small, I would be worried.

My dog is allergic to everything, so I'm probably paranoid. Some dogs react to drugs very badly.

  7. Nice. I freakin' love matte black bikes, and red and black is always cool(they were my high school colors, kinda hard to beat that school spirit out of you).

BTW, I still think Cdubyah has one of the coolest bikes on this board as well. :)

If these guys are riding together, that is just pure sweetness cruising down the road.

  8. I finished the bike up a few weeks ago, and never got around to posting pics so here they are.

I had Paul(Attack Painter) put a fresh coat of paint on my tank and fenders, and was very impressed with how they turned out. The previous owner had drilled some holes in the rear fender, so I patched them up and Paul did a great job covering my work, and the tank looks brand new now.

If anyone is looking for a paint job, I think it would be pretty hard to pass up using Paul for top quality work at a fantastic price.

Flashy colors and paint just are not my style, so I just kept it black. I looked into murdering out the whole bike, but that was a bit out of my price range at the time. It's freaking hard to find parts for a cruiser that are not chrome.

Here are some before and after pics.

    Mods done-

    Paint job obviously.

    New tires

42 to 38 tooth sprocket change and new chain

    K&N air filter

Billski tailight mod--this is the part that pleases me the most, I freaking hated that lunch box looking thing that was on there before.

    New bags and supports.

New pegs, pedals and stirrups, I was looking for floorboards without the bulk and the stirups are awesome. They really add a lot of comfort to the bike.

I stripped it down and did a good tune-up too.

The only thing left is maybe a new windshield. Not sure If I really like the one I bought last year, I don't think I like how it looks, I may go with a 4 point system.

I had a lot of fun doing all of this, and it feeels like a whole new bike for a not a ton of money.

  9. I thought the quote about the deaths seemed a bit high, I think there would have been more news about that, and I would think it wouldn't be continued if so. I searched the web for any info to back this up, and could not find anything.

I've been to rallies before and I don't mind a party, and the bike stays parked once I start drinking. Not saying nothing can ever happen to me, but I try to lower my odds of being a statistic.

I don't really mind the HD crowd either, and I'm not looking to hook up so the what the crowd looks like is not important to me. I just don't want to walk into an Easy Rider Rodeo atmosphere and get harassed because I don't ride a certain type of bike.

I figured this would draw a younger crowd with good mix of riders. Maybe I'm wrong.

I also saw some threads from last year about a group of Ohio Riders going up that I think never happened, maybe it should be taken into consideration this year.

  10. Pretty sure I'm going to go to Sandusky for Ohio Bike week in June, and I've never been there before.

What is the crowd like? Is it mostly HD, sportbikes, or a good mix? I don't really fit in with either(I ride a metric cruiser), but a good mix would be just fine.

Do people usually camp and party all night or is it better to get a hotel?

Just looking to get a feel for the atmosphere. Thanks!
