Max..never too old for a train ride:) I don't get to ride much in the summer but I have time in the winter for train rides:popcorn:Just a pic or two from february....... This past trip went to Chicago,to Sacramento for a couple of days and then Portland OR for a couple of days and back to Chicago and back home to Cincinnati,,close to 6000 miles,gotta go first class in a roomette tho..coach sucks.

Thanks Max,don't know if anybody reads these little reports,no view counter..you may be the only one and if so thanks, it kinda takes the fun out of posting. Yuppers I hit the throttle lock,camera on the neck,guess and shoot. This pic was at 80mph in Nevada last february on Amtrak at 5:30 am,kinda liked it with the moon lite mountains.........

Got the old bike out for a bit of a ride today,nothing fancy... Just riding a few of the back roads around here.. Corn is starting to come in.......... And the Great Miami River is a bit muddy....

Nice bike Ziggy,see by the brackets you throw some soft saddle bags on from time to time..not really up with the newer bikes but see ya have a drum rear brake. Got a buddy on another XS1100 who lives near the 22 Mile restaurant.

Got out a little bit sunday6/7 and shot over to In,went to download pics..only a few survived,couldn't get Recovery to see my camera or computer so buddy has a photo port in computer so it should work there.. Great landscaping:) This was in Ross OH,must be used in parades.. Got my gps agoing..a map.. Just a couple of shots thru the windshield This old cruiser of a bike is still running fine,may not keep up to todays bike,not handle as well but I think it is a keeper:D

Got out last sunday on the old bike to meet a couple of sport riders just for the fun of it..I like all bikes...couldn't make there ride,these guys I think were meeting up with another group in KY to take rt 10 and 22. And my land boat:)..didn't know what to expect,a bit older,two had no helmets and one guy about 50 live in the same hell hole trailer park I did in the early 80's..small world...

KRZ...not a good ride at the time and definatly not a good reason but if all went well on a ride you wouldn't have anything to talk about:) I froze my butt off riding to Frisco from Cincinnati so I took the southern route back home thru AZ TX etc.

Yuppers it is a very clean bike..when we had our run last sunday it was noted that the red line on the tach was still red and not fade but it only has 25 thousand on it but she is not afraid to ride it so it will start racking up some miles.

Hey Max..sorry to hear about the collar bone,did not know and same with the job..just keep on trying and make the best of what ya got.. Yeah I am a member of that ride OH board..I am Amtrak there, I am Conrail here..http://rideohio.org/index.php and Amtrak here also.. which is a very lose group of riders.. http://classicujm.forumakers.com/index.htm I came on here because I ride alone 95% of the time and I was wanting to keep current on the younger riders and just different types of riding...I am not a Wing rider, Harley rider or sport bike rider but I do ride an old muscle bike that can still run a bit but I have turned it into a boat but I have fun..wave,stop for a bike along side of the road and can spot a newbie a mile away...we old riders stick together on our XS1100's..had a gal(from Chillicothe) ride to Maineville OH to rebuild her carbs this afternoon,we are a hardy group Max..I think us older riders,of old bikes, really stick together..

Soo...any of you guys getting out riding and trying to prepare for a trip?

Well I went to the daily ride and read some of the stuff there..some of it is who can p higher on the tree type of deal..I want nothing to do with that..turns me off,this little muscle bike thing seems to be ok,with no views posted I don't know if anyone reads my posts,my bike is/was a cruiser in it's day and I turned it into a land boat,I can get my fairing blowen off by a sportbike rider and yet some I can blow by others..seems to be a lot of HD bashing..I jump on my partners HD once in awhile She has a very good handeling bike and good looking.So I think I will just stay here and 1000+ group for now but thanks on the suggestion...

Thanks Max..there might be a few on the main board who don't know of this place who have the old muscle,cruiser bikes..I will have had my bike 29 years next friday:) Will give it some thought,I am here mainly cause it is about Ohio riding.. An XS 1100 from Westerville OH,met him at a Kaw run last year..I kinda docotered it up a bit:D

Ok back in it's day the XS 1100 Yamaha('78-81) was the fastest bike out there and yet a cruiser and road bike.Well just had our second SWOHXS ride(South West Ohio XS) We had six XS's and a seventh join up in route,a Harley and a Kaw joined also. We are in Cincinnati but we had a mother of two ride in from Chillicothe on here 1100 to ride with us,what a trooper. Well the ride started at the Aurora City Park Aurora IN,we followed RT56 down to Madison IN with a stop at Markland dam and the river park in Madison IN..a leisurely ride along the river and very beautiful,decent roads. After gas and lunch in Madison we headed back on RT.62 which is a bit twisty but gravel free,little traffic BUT ya gotta watch the pick ups coming the other way as they like to cross the double yellow in the curves..Friendship IN has a flea market,Boy Scout Camp and the Mussle Loaders Assn. there. And when ya hit Dillsboro you will whistle the Andy Griffith Theme and think of Norman Rockwell. So we ended our ride back in Aurora..great ride,210 years worth of bike history,I was the oldest at 55 and youngest was 27.. Bikes all ran great,I did the pre safety ride two weeks before and saw buzzards eating road kill all along the way but not one this time but we did have a turkey in the road who yelled at us:-) So the boring part is over..now a pic or two.. It is always a good ride when ya make it home safe..oh and the leader..

Another thing to consider is sun screen,I used it on a trip to San Fran but I still fried my nose from the reflection of the glasses I had at the time.

Miller I am not out that way much,went to a buddies house near Columbia and Montgomery to work on my bike but I fixed his bike while he was working on mine...gave it a look... I think I got it right that you are a little new to riding..do your own ride..they will wait for you or you will wait for them.. you got a go fast knee drager..I got an old style boat, be lucky to keep up with you..hell my bike is probably older than a bunch of the riders on here...but will keep ya in mind if I am out that way.......think of Beverly Hillbilles and ya got me:)

If all goes well at work I am doing a pre safety ride to Madison IN from Cincinnati for our SWOXS ride..I am the the leader..Oh Boy.... South West Ohio XS1100 Yamaha riders is our group..
