  1. Yuppers know what ya mean...but still it beats a desk job:D
  2. I probably am a foamer but I don't care about the consist or power,in the early days always looked for a center flo to ride on,the little hole on the end hide ya from everybody.I don't hop freights any more but now I camp next to,ride Amtrak or follow the tracks on my bike which will give you some scenic rides and back roads.Example..RT8 in northern KY..follows the CSX and the OH river, fun ride and good scenery,go further and pick up RT52 and take it deep into the heart of coal country and follow the tracks... View from my tent last year on a quickie ride.. Not much of a tent but it works.. Main reason I am here is because this is the Cincinnati forum...like reading stories about this area..ride out of Dunlap.Like seeing pics from rides and the area around here, neat area to live in..variety. Just a short jump to IN as the banjos start... But Cincinnati IS the place to be:)

I can go back to Clare Yards when my mom was a babe in the cab of a steam engine before she was the twinkle in my dad's eye.. Trains & bikes...maybe I will talk about that later why they are sorta the same..
  6. Well if ya work for N/S and go thru Blanchet KY I am one of those crazy guys down there camping in the winter...our tribute to the engineers and firemen...
  7. Don't work for the railroad but have been hanging by the tracks since about '66..great hobby but not a foamer, don't care about consists or engine number, don't have a pocket protector with ten pens in it,just like trains..took this about 5:30 am in the Nevada desert last month on Amtrak at 79 mph..a bit blurry but ya get the idea...................
  8. Naw not a foamer:) But dang you guys need to get a life:-) soo many relies in a few minutes..motorcycle foamers:D But I do stand taller than the rest....

  10. Hey all,I was invited here by *******:-)Don't wanna say his/her name..might give him/her a bad rep:) but I wanna sat thank you for the invite. New to this board, not a knee dragger, crotch rocket rider or a go fast rider, but I am the fastest at stopping at a historical marker or scenic overlook..that is just my style of riding.I ride an older bike and have lived in Cincinnati all my life, half on the east side and now on the west side. Interesting site..different from the other Ohio sites I belong to..a much younger crowd here..well any ways I just drop by once in awhile to have a look see around the site to see what is going on and now I found this Cincy site..have to stop by more often:grin: Bikes&trains
  11. Max Here is 120 years of bike history..4 old XS 1100 Yamahas out on a ride last fall at the Rankin House in Ripley OH.. We did a nice ride with some twisties but mainly some scenic roads...and a ferry throwen in....
  12. Thanks Maxpower but in person it is a bit rough, pics don't show all the nicks and brusises besides it's a color by number bike:)
  13. BTW.....What's a "UJM"? Well I am still a newbie to this site..my riding style is not really what this place is about but it seems open minded enough that I can post a little with out being shot down:)..UJM.. http://www.geocities.com/ujmrider/cruiser.html I ride an UJM and have set it up exactualy how I want it...it was a muscle and cruiser bike in it's time, very fast and VERY reliable...but as I got older I slowed down..I have had this bike for 29 years now...you local Cincy riders near Ross and Miamitown may have seen me as I pass you and give a little wave to your "crotch rockets"..I just smile to myself..my bike and I are one when we are on the road...I am old school rider but I still have that feeling of what "IT" is about while riding............

  15. Just take the trip, have good rubber under ya and have some warm clothes and good rain gear,a break down will give ya a story to tell. I ride an old bike and just pack it as I see fit so just do YOUR ride any way you want to...
  16. Why do I ride? None of the above...it is the smile on my face when I ride and I have had it since day one.. I ride for me..I don't ride any fancy go fast knee draging bike, the ride is about ME.I hit the starter button on my old Yamaha and we are one...I don't care if you like my bike or me as I ride.I am not out to impress I am there cause it is what I like to do and that is Ride...........

Bill
  21. Seems like us Cincy riders are coming out of the wood work:-) I have a whole different style of riding than you guys,a different mind set but since I like riding and this is OHIO I joined just to enjoy the pictures of the bikes, not what I want but you guys bring a smile to my face:).really liked the my bike picture thread. Now I might have to contribute to the ugliest bike thread with my bike at least in your eyes:-) I am 55 and ride a 30 year old bike but I am trying to keep up with what the newer bikes are doing especially here in OHIO.You local guys I am near MT. Rumpke...I might get banned if I post a picture of my bike...I know I am out of place here but I do like your pictures and stories........ put your blinders on and the why the **** is this guy here...I like bikes..Like Beverly Hillbillies......
