  1. Big Green have a report or some pictures? Didn't relize it was that far around the lakes.
  2. Well my cat Amtrak and I work out together...we wanna be our best... Hocking Hills...no self respecting Ohioan has not been there..the last two years went on the first weekend in OCT and stayed at a crappy motel but the long day ride route I would choose made up for it... http://www.hockinghills.com/shawneeinn/ Always take the long way there...... Some how KY comes into place.. Not me but at Hocking..07 We are trying to get an XS1100 ride to Hocking this fall and you would be welcome to join, we are just in the early stages of getting it together,we are very loose on our rides...
  3. I could feel the love, all warm ,fuzzy and tinglie inside. We need a group sing-a-long followed by one big group hug...my cat Amtrak reads my posts and his opinion................ He's not a rider so he doesn't understand:wtf:
  4. But I had a short ride last sunday, kinda messed up my back and didn't ride all week.Feeling better today but the ole kick stand is still down:mad:But as I said got out for a few short miles last sunday and found this little stop, turned around and went back as they were packing up for the day but I will return when they are flying high...this is just outside of Ross OH.. Guy down the street is into rc planes, never met him but found his site..go to the r's and radio malfunction..wow..pretty cool..the Forest Park pics are great. http://www.jlbutler.net/RCStuff/ But as people always dream about far away places they fail to see what is in their own back yard...
  5. Thought there might be a few Suzuki riders with some old 850's or 1100's out there, dang good bikes.See alot of them on the road. Made a trip to Maysville KY last Oct for the SWOKS ride, missed the ride but made the dinner and hotel. It was good to see some older bikes on the road, mine included as I rode down and made a few stops.Found this little gem of a bridge, had to turn around to go back.. And as a sad reminder this was just in front of it... As I made my way to Maysville from Cincinnati I saw this, can't find it on a map, don't have a clue to what it is.........Fizzleville Oh Just a few pics in the same area.. Met a few HD riders in Aberdeen at the DQ before I crossed the bridge to KY but I had to stop and see their flood wall.. Nice place to visit, sit along the river, great view,a train might come by( I like trains) lots of bikes...but I came here to see some bikes. I missed the ride and I didn't make it to the hotel till 4 pm( Hamptom Inn used my AARP card and got a decent rate:-)) But..... So much more went on but after a nite at a great restaurant and a party afterwards it was time to head home so I poked along RT 52 and who can not stop at the Rankin House in Ripley... So just a quick get away on an old bike and ready for another. This is an after thought...
  6. Max,got my first post over there, short, good response....I'll give another shot at it...
  7. If any of you Colerain TWP guys ride on Dunlap, you know the place where the gravel comes off the diveway near Yeatman,it has been really bad here of late.
  8. I am sure you guys with very brand and model specific could find a site if ya looked around. In the one XS1100 site there are over 5000 members. We just started last fall a SWOHXS (southwest ohio XS) riders group and had seven 30 year old bikes on this springs run.The old Suzuki rides have a strong following also..met a few last year in Maysville KY at a Kawaski run and guess what..we all got along great. Back to the cruiser theme...I turned mine into a boat..we may not have road bikes or sport bikes but our rides seem to be very dependable and fun to ride..a quick trip to the pony keg:)
  9. I was invited to come here to the daily ride from the Old Muscle group.I post a few pics and tell a short line or two about my sunday rides and he thought this might be a place to post a little...I am not about who can P higher on the tree, I am not a go fast rider..I have a few years behind me,so this is my first post in this forum....I will make this short.. I ride an old Yamaha XS1100,it was a cruiser and a muscle bike in it's day,I know can't keep up to some of today's bikes but still is a butt kicker. I turned mine into cruiser, muscle road warrior... The Daily Ride...well I try and rid e this bike every day after work and a ride on sundays..we have a group of us XS riders that we have meets and rides together.... We have our get togethers where we fix another 1100 to keep it on the road..
  10. OK I will give it a try but if some one wants to pee higher on the tree..I just give a straight report,no put downs etc.decent pics...see what happens.. Thanks Bill
  11. Max hope ya find your problem,on an XS 1100 I would say pick up coil wires... Well this is gonna be one of my last posts on here, got no other viewers or posters..so why bother..this site is more about sport riders( I didn't say crotch rockets)I put up the the geekiest avatar picure I had.. So any way last sunday 7/12.... I had a few minutes on my hand and did a few pictures... My bike with an attitude And what happens when a band sees an XS1100 Yamaha in the audiance Back to my ride sunday.. Corn is big around Ross OH.. Every thing is green around here on my rides... Made it back to the shop where it was still green......
  12. I just didn't have the time to ride up and back to make it worth while for me. 4 hour ride time and a 1/2 hour chit chat time and that is if YOU found me:-)
  13. Well had a rider trailer his bike down from Indy to Cincinnati for a lot of work in a short time, coils, wires fuse box, sync carbs, and various other things but still had a problem with the no 1 cyl back firing..still have some work to be done to it...7/5 Tag teaming.... Syncing carbs.. And yuppers there is a lot of beautiful country around here ,,, Think I exceeded my pic per post count...:popcorn:Lets keep it quiet..
  14. Nice bike there '74 Honda
  15. Got out sunday a bit 6/28,nice 70 mile ride ,easy, relaxing, stab it straight plus a few twisties, light traffic. So I got on my old slo and go cruiser muscle bike, hit 275 to I74 to RT 52 and took a nice ride up to Brookville IN,following the Whitewater river and a light duty train track..scenic,sit back with a smile and enjoy. At Brookville ya have a lot of restaurants but I was just passin thru and made a right on rt 252 back east on a bit of some twisties, look simple but can fool ya,and open road with a whoop dee doos thrown in and finally made it back to Ross and back to the home base of Dunlap...just a quick report... And I got home to try and put the mind meld cap on my cat's (Amtrak)head..

  18. :popcorn:You guys are scaring me now..may be I should stay here in Cincinnati..naw..I'll get up early on a sunday and check the area out..the locals will still be passed out and in the cardboard boxes or under blue tarps or pushing a grocery cart....but thanks for the Priceline tip..never gave that a thought...The Wolf is retired but is rasing money for a charity, only nine shows this summer..in case you younger riders don't know who the Wolf is.......... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z-9iNVoeghI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YwLmmXGEEps You Dayton riders...

  20. So looking a little closer seems like I could stay at the Marriot and walk to the Fraze...$99 bucks..whip out my AARP card and get a few bucks knocked off but that would be an ideal location..even if it rains I don't melt.
