Oooh good to know. Don't know how I missed this thread. That bike is so pretty, I hope it's back to normal sooner rather than later. Glad to hear your ok, that soreness sticks in your mind for a while too.
Good read I have to say (and this isn't disagreeing, just introspection). I have always prefered to hang off the bike a bit when taking twisty roads. The stability and peace of mind from having all that rubber down was just natural. Keep in mind I am always short of knee-dragging pace. Anyone have thoughts on that? Preferences?
Glad to hear you're alright. I had the same thing happen when I went down from gravel. Melted a good portion of the arm off but there was armor on under it. Unless it's the real premium cordura stuff I just don't trust it anymore.
I'm definitely having fun on it. The weight difference is what really gets me. It's making me work on my smoothness. The VFR just kind of picked a line and stayed there. I'm getting used to it. I'll definitely be out on it today. I need to hit some real twisty stuff. The chicken strips are still on there.
The wind blast may tire you out on a naked FYI. My buddy went a long way on his 919 but you are very exposed to the elements and it really wears your neck out. Contrast this to my old VFR and I hopped off feeling great. Read a few reviews, most reviews mention long distance comfort.
No wind protection and buzzy in the upper rpm. Lots of attitude and grunt though. Very cool mean little bike. Just depends what kind of riding you'll be doing and how much you like being in the wind.
I like how he has basically created a wing generating lift on only one side of his bike. I wonder how fast he'll have to go for it to start pulling to one side . . .
